    Hybrid Client Model (HCM)

Implement highly used TV apps (EPG, Navigation and InfoBar) as STB based code

Only use HTML for modules and services involvingfrequently changed data (e.g. VOD Rental interface) andtransaction screens.

HCMguarantees minimum service of EPG and live TV even

when servers are offline HCMrequires less server investments

Leverage STB CPU for heavily used apps - EPG

    HCMis highly scalable

HCMavoids unnecessary network bandwidth requirementsno request-response round trips for most user actions

    Minerva PerceptiView Module

The Minerva Video Pre-Processor provides powerful noise

reduction processing before the stream is encoded

Minerva PerceptiView performs a visual lossless picture

coding based on picture data analysis.

It defines the visual perception threshold for each detail in

    the picture, reacting accordingly.

For each detail, the Video Pre-Processor automatically

applies the appropriate adaptive filters prior to MPEG-2

    video encoding

    Types of Pre Processing:

    1. Impulse noise reduction2. motion compensated temporal filter

    3. edge adaptive texture filter

    4. non-linear spatial filter

    5. noise level estimation

    Terayon CherryPicker

    # 1 MPEG-2 digital streams management system in the world

Used by AT&T, Cox and Time Warner

Main function for IP Television: Rate Shape VBR video streams

Example: Dont go over 3.2 Mb/s

1 DM3232 will put a cap on up to 32 individual VBR video streams

    1 DM3232 will re-multiplex these 32 video streams into 2 DVB/ASI outputs

2 DVB/ASI outputs go directly into 1 DVB to IP blade in a VC-8000 chassis.
