BEACH LIFE

Nude bathing is only legal on a few beaches in Greece andit is considered oensive to the traditional Greeks. It isalso very bad etiquette to swim or sunbathe within sight ofa church and there are several churches around the Greekcoastline. Topless sunbathing is legal nationwide butthere are several areas which have adopted their ownpolicy and opted out of this liberal approach by postingsigns which should not be ignored.

The police rarely hand out nes but you can end up with three days in jail if you ignore the rst warning. The islandis full of lovely beaches and especially Myrtiotissa nearCorfu, Glyfada and Pelekas on the west coast are worth avisit. There are also plenty of secluded beaches on thewest coast that can be reached by a water-taxi or by oneof the small day-tripper boats for a fee.
