In a world increasingly indiferent to Christian truth, ollowers

o Christ need to be equipped to communicate with those who

do not speak their language or accept their source o authority. This summer our panel o presenters will share how you can

get in the drivers seat, keeping any conversation moving with

thoughtul, artul diplomacy. Youll learn how to maneuver

comortably and graciously through the mine elds, stop

challengers in their tracks, turn the tables

and---most importantly---get people thinking about Jesus.

The class book is available or purchased or $15 rom the

    church library.

    Why We Believe in Jesus

    Matthew 16:13-16

This weeks sermon ocused on what we believe about Jesus and why

we believe it . I we are not convinced o something we will nd it di -

cult to share with others in a convicting manner. I we are to efectively

share our aith, we need to understand what we believe and why we

believe it. The core o our belie is in the person o Jesus Christ. The

more we are convinced o who Jesus is the more equipped we will beto share him and his message with others.

    1. Give an example o someone you know personally or someone

generally who demonstrates (or who demonstrated) a strong belie in

    or conviction about something.

    2. What relationship do you see between being convinced about

something and having the willingness to share with others what you

    believe?

    3. Jesus, himsel, is the ocus o our aith. What is it that you believe

about Jesus and how might that truth about him be relevant to the

people you are seeking to reach?

    4. How would you complete the ollowing sentence? Jesus is

    m | g r o u p M a t e r i a l

    5. The core o our belie is that Jesus is the Son o God. What does that mean to

    you?

    6. How is the truth about Jesus being the Son o God relevant to the people you

    are seeking to reach?

    7. The apostles constantly preached the message that Jesus was the Christ. What does that mean to you?

    8. How is the truth that Jesus is the Christ relevant to the people you are seeking

    to reach?

    9. How would you prove to someone that Jesus is the Christ, the Son o God?

    10. What other thoughts do you have about why we believe in Jesus?
