IMPORTANT — READ CAREFULLY

This Hypermedia Systems Ltd. License Agreement (the "AGREEMENT") is a legal agreement between you (eitheran individual or a single entity) and Hypermedia Systems Ltd. for the product accompanying this AGREEMENT.The product includes computer software, associated media and printed materials, and may include "online" or elec-tronic documentation (the "SOFTWARE"). The PRODUCT may also include hardware (the “HARDWARE”). TheSOFTWARE and the HARDWARE are referred to, collectively, as the PRODUCT.

BY INSTALLING AND/OR USING THE PRODUCT YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS OF THISAGREEMENT.

IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT, PROMPTLY ERASE ALL COPIES OF THESOFTWARE IN YOUR POSSESSION, AND RETURN THE SOFTWARE AND ANY ACCOMPANYING HARD-WARE TO THE PLACE FROM WHICH YOU OBTAINED IT.

COPYRIGHT.All title and copyrights in and to the PRODUCT are owned by Hypermedia Systems Ltd. The PRODUCT is pro-tected by copyright laws and international copyright treaties, as well as other intellectual property laws and treaties.

GRANT OF LICENSE FOR THE SOFTWARE. The SOFTWARE is licensed, not sold. Hypermedia Systems Ltd. grants to you a non-exclusive, non-transferable,royalty-free right to install and use the SOFTWARE, provided that the SOFTWARE will be used by a single personon a single computer and for personal non-commercial, internal use only. If accompanied by a proof-of-purchasedocument specifying "site license," "company license," or any other multiple-user type license scheme, then theterms of that document shall override this single-user restriction. Any rights not expressly granted herein areretained by Hypermedia Systems Ltd.

OTHER RESTRICTIONS. This AGREEMENT is your proof of license to exercise the rights granted herein and must be retained by you. Youmay not rent, lease, reverse engineer, decompile, modify, or disassemble the PRODUCT, or create derivativeworks based on the PRODUCT.

LIMITED HARDWARE WARRANTYThe HARDWARE is protected against defects in material and workmanship, under normal use, for one (1) yearfrom the original purchase date. If the HARDWARE fails to perform within the abovementioned warranty period, you must return the PRODUCT toHypermedia Systems Ltd. and prepay any shipping charges, export taxes, custom duties and taxes, or anycharges associated with transportation of the Product. In addition, you are responsible for insuring the PRODUCTshipped or returned and assume the risk of loss during shipment. All returned PRODUCTS must be accompanied by a description of the problem, a proof of the place and date ofpurchase, and the original shipping and packing materials.Hypermedia Systems Ltd. shall, at its sole discretion, either repair the PRODUCT or replace it with a product of thesame functionally. Replacement products may be refurbished or contain refurbished materials. If Hypermedia Sys-tems Ltd. cannot repair or replace the PRODUCT, Hypermedia Systems Ltd. will refund the depreciated purchaseprice of the PRODUCT. This limited warranty does not apply to any PRODUCT not purchased from Hypermedia Systems Ltd., or from aHypermedia Systems Ltd. authorized reseller, or on which the serial number has been removed or defaced. Thislimited warranty also does not cover any PRODUCT that has been damaged or rendered defective as a result of(a) improper transportation or packing when returning the PRODUCT to Hypermedia Systems Ltd.; (b) use of thePRODUCT other than in accordance with its instructions, or other misuse or abuse of the PRODUCT; (c) modifica-tion of the PRODUCT; (d) service by anyone other than a Hypermedia Systems Ltd.-approved agent; (e) unusualphysical or electrical stress or interference, failure or fluctuation of electrical power, lightning, static electricity,improper temperature or humidity, fire, or acts of God.

The maximum liability of Hypermedia Systems Ltd. under this limited warranty is limited to the purchase price of thePRODUCT covered by the warranty.Hypermedia Systems Ltd. reserves the right to refuse PRODUCTS (i) that are not covered by the warranty; or (ii)for which there is no problem found. Such PRODUCTS shall be returned to the purchaser at purchaser’s expense.

Chapter 1

GENERAL SETTINGS

Hypermedia’s SMS Corporate and Campaigner are pre-installed on the SMS PRO Gateway. They are also available as software which can be added to an existing Hypermedia Gateway. When purchased as add-on software, Hyper-media Technical Support installs the software on the Gateway.This section includes:• “Accessing the SMS Corporate and Campaigner” on page 2• “Defining the Settings” on page 3• “Managing Users” on page 6

Accessing the SMS Corporate and CampaignerTo access the SMS Corporate/Campaigner main screen:1. Open a web-browser and enter the SMS Corporate URL. The URL is pro-

vided by the Network Administrator. The Login Screen is displayed.

2. Enter the Username and Password and click Login. The Corporate/Cam-paigner main screen is displayed.

Defining the SettingsTo define the settings:1. Access the Corporate/Campaigner main screen (see “Accessing the SMS

Corporate and Campaigner” on page 2).

Only a user defined as an Administrator has access to the Settings screen.

2. From the upper-right corner of the Corporate/Campaigner main screen, click Settings. The Settings screen is displayed.

Warning

Only change Server Connection settings when instructed to do so by Hypermedia Technical Support.

3. Define the General Settings:a. Click General Settings. The SMS Settings screen is displayed.

b. To import a company logo:i. Click Select. The standard Windows Open dialog box is

displayed.ii. Locate and select the logo file. Its name appears in the field.iii. Click Import. The confirmation message is displayed and the

logo appears. c. Select or clear the Enable/Disable checkbox. When selected, the

system will remember which user sent the SMS and be able to receive a return SMS from the person who received the original message.i. Enter the text of the message.ii. Enter the number of hours the system will remember the sender.iii. Click Save.

4. Define the Email Settings:a. Click Email Settings. The Email Settings screen is displayed.

b. Complete the four fields.c. Click Update.

5. Define the Personal Settings:a. Click Personal Settings. The Personal Settings screen is displayed.

b. Optionally, change the password.c. Optionally, create a signature. This is a closing that will be added to

every SMS. i. Enter your name.ii. Enter the phone number of your mobile phone.iii. Enter a comment.iv. Click Update.

6. From the bottom of the Settings navigation panel, click Close. The new settings are saved and focus is returned to the Corporate and Campaigner main screen.

Managing UsersUse the Management screen to control who has access to the SMS Corporate and SMS Campaigner, the privileges they have access to, and to add credit to control the duration of their access. To manage users:1. Access the Corporate/Campaigner main screen (see “Accessing the SMS

Corporate and Campaigner” on page 2).

Only a user defined as an Administrator has access to the Management screen.

2. From the upper-right corner of the Corporate/Campaigner main screen, click Management. The User Management screen is displayed.

3. Click Add new user. The Add User screen is displayed in the right pane.

4. Enter the User Name.5. Enter the Password.

6. From the Class dropdown menu, select a category name.

The privileges and restriction of each class are:CorporateHas access to SMS Corporate but not to SMS Campaigner and not to Settings and Management.CampaignHas access to SMS Campaigner but not to SMS Corporate and not to Settings and Management.PlatinumHas access to both SMS Campaigner and SMS Corporate but not to Settings and Management.AdministratorHas access to SMS Campaigner, SMS Corporate, and to Settings and Management.

7. From the Credit dropdown menu, select a Credit type. Credit determines the number of SMSs that a User can send within a specific period of time. The Credit types are defined by the Administrator (see step #9).

8. Click Add User. A message confirms that the new User has been created.9. Optionally, the Administrator can edit existing Credit types or create a

new Credit type:a. Either, click New Credit to create a new Credit type, or, to edit an

existing Credit type, select the Credit type from the Credit dropdown menu and click Edit Credit.

b. Enter a name for the new Credit Type.

c. From the Credit Type dropdown menu, select either:• Expiration date

Use this type to limit the time the User has access to the system while allowing them to send an unlimited number of SMSs.

• per Day Use this type to limit the number of SMSs that a User can send per day.

• Time Frame Use this type to limit the User’s access to a specific period of time.

• Quota Based Use this type to limit the User only to the number of SMS credits they have, without a time limit.

d. Enter the Start date. e. Enter the Expiration date. f. In the No of SMS field, enter the quantity of SMSs the User will be

allowed to send.g. Click Create.

Creating a .CSV File There are several cases where information can be prepared in a .CSV file and then uploaded.To prepare the .CSV file:1. Create a new file whose file-name ends with the extension .csv.

One option for creating the .csv file is to use Microsoft Excel. From the File > Save as > Save as type dropdown list, select .csv. When using Excel, do not enter commas.

2. In the first column of the first row of the .csv, enter the field name phone. 3. In subsequent columns of the first row, assign unique field names.

Common field names are name, msg, and email.4. Ensure that:

• The first row contains the field names.• Each row contains information for a single recipient only.• If not using Excel, a comma separates each field.

If the msg field is left blank, the generic message is sent.

5. Save and close the .csv file.

Composing and Sending an SMS MessageTo compose and send an SMS message:1. Access the Corporate/Campaigner main screen (see “Accessing the SMS

Corporate and Campaigner” on page 2).

2. Ensure that the Corporate tab ( ) is selected. The Compose a text message pane is displayed.

3. Enter the cell-phone number of the contact in the To: field. 4. Enter the text of the SMS in the Message text: field.

Variables can be used only when populating the To: field by using a .csv file. To use variables, such as the recipients name, type the dollar sign followed by the field name. For example, if the field name “title” exists, type $title.

5. Optionally, select the Reminder checkbox. When selected, enter the date and time of day the message is to be sent.

6. Optionally, select the With special signature checkbox. When selected, the pre-configured signature is appended to the SMS message (see step 5c on page 5).

7. Click Submit. A confirmation message is displayed.

Managing Contacts and GroupsSimplify use of the SMS Corporate by entering Contacts and creating Groups.

Adding a Single or Multiple Contacts

To enter a Contact:1. Access the Corporate/Campaigner main screen (see “Accessing the SMS

Corporate and Campaigner” on page 2).

2. Ensure that the Corporate tab ( ) is selected.3. From the Navigation Pane, click New contact. The Add Contacts screen

is displayed.

4. To add a single contact, enter their Name, Email address, and Phone number and click Add. A message confirms that the new contact has been added successfully.

5. To add a list of contacts:a. Ensure that the .CSV file is prepared (see “Creating a .CSV File” on

page 9).b. Click Select. The standard Windows Open dialog box is displayed.c. Locate and select the .csv file. Its name appears in the CSV File:

field.d. Click Import CSV File.

Creating a Group from Existing Contacts

To create a Group from existing contacts:1. Access the Corporate/Campaigner main screen (see “Accessing the SMS

Corporate and Campaigner” on page 2).

2. Ensure that the Corporate tab ( ) is selected.3. Ensure that the contacts have already been added.4. From the Navigation Pane, click New group. 5. Ensure that the New Group from Existing Contacts screen is displayed.

6. Enter a Name for the New Group.7. Click Add. The name appears in the Groups list.8. From the Existing Contacts list, select contacts.

9. Click . The contacts are added to the Group.

Creating a Group from a .CSV File

To create a Group from a .CSV file:1. Access the Corporate/Campaigner main screen (see “Accessing the SMS

Corporate and Campaigner” on page 2).

2. Ensure that the Corporate tab ( ) is selected.3. Ensure that the .CSV file is prepared (see “Creating a .CSV File” on

page 9).4. From the Navigation Pane, click New group. 5. Click From a .CSV file. The New Group from a CSV file screen is dis-

played.

6. Enter a Name for the New Group.7. Click Add. The name appears in the Groups list.8. Browse to locate and select the .CSV file.

9. Click . The .CSV file is uploaded and the contacts are added to the Group.

Editing or Deleting a Contact or Group

To edit or delete a Contact or Group, click the icons on the main screen:

• Click this icon to edit.

• Click this icon to delete.

Reviewing StatusTo review the status of messages:

1. Ensure that the Corporate tab ( ) is selected.2. From the upper left corner, click Status. The Status screen is displayed.

3. Select one of the options in the left column—Inbox, Outbox, Error, or Sent. SMS messages are displayed in the top panel.

4. Select an SMS message. Details are displayed in the lower panel.5. Optionally, select an SMS and click Add to Contacts to add contact infor-

mation to the list of saved contacts.

Distributing a Campaign MessageTo compose and distribute a Campaign message:1. Prepare a comma-separated value (.CSV) file with campaign recipient

information (see “Creating a .CSV File” on page 9).2. Access the Corporate/Campaigner main screen (see “Accessing the SMS

Corporate and Campaigner” on page 2).

3. Ensure that the Campaigner tab ( ) is selected. The Compose a bulk message pane is displayed.

4. Enter the campaign’s name in the Campaign Name field.5. Upload the .csv file.

a. Click Select. The standard Windows Open dialog box is displayed.b. Locate and select the .csv file. Its name appears in the CSV File:

field.6. Enter the text of the SMS in the Message text: field.7. From the Sending options dropdown list, select from the following:

SMS OnlyThe message is delivered only via SMS.Email OnlyThe message is delivered only via email. Ensure that the email settings are defined (see step 4 on page 4).SMS + EmailThe message is sent both via SMS and via email.

Successful SMS or EmailThe message is sent first, via SMS, and then, if the SMS is not successful, via email.

8. Optionally, select the Reminder checkbox. When selected, enter the date and time of day the message is to be sent.

9. Optionally, the Administrator can select either: Send NowThe message is sent immediately.Send to Queue.The message is sent to the queue and is sent when the queue reaches the SMS.

10. Disable or Enable IMR (Interactive Message Response). See “Using Interactive Message Response (IMR)” on page 19.

11. Optionally, click More. The Periodic Activity feature is displayed. When configured, the Gateway reruns the campaign with the designated fre-quency.

To configure Periodic Activity:a. Select the checkbox.b. From the dropdown menu, select a time interval.c. Move the slider marker to the right to increase activity.

12. Click Submit. A message confirms that the new campaign has build has been saved successfully.

Using Interactive Message Response (IMR)To configure the IMR (Interactive Message Response):1. Plan the IMR campaign. Ensure that the body of the SMS contains

response instructions, for example: “Press 1 for YES or press 2 for NO”.2. Complete steps 1–9 described in “Distributing a Campaign Message”

beginning on p. 17.3. Select Enable IMR. The Settings link is displayed.4. Click Settings. The “Build your IMR Campaign” screen is displayed.

5. Ensure that, from the Choose dropdown menu, New IMR is selected.6. In the Campaign pane, select New Campaign.7. Click Rename. The name becomes a blank field.8. Name the campaign and press Enter. The name is displayed.9. Select the campaign name and click Create Response. Repeat this for the

number of responses required for the campaign.

10. Select the first Response.

11. Using the Value and Label fields, configure the Response.The Value field defines the number that the User will press on their phone’s number pad.The Label field defines the option that the User is selecting.

Reviewing StatusTo review the status of messages:

1. Ensure that the Campaigner tab ( ) is selected.2. From the upper left corner, click Status. The Status screen is displayed.

3. Select one of the options in the left column—Schedulled, In Process, or Completed. Campaign information is displayed in the top panel.

4. Select a Campaign. Details are displayed in the lower panel.5. Optionally:

• From Scheduled or In Process, click Edit to reconfigure the campaign parameters.

• From Completed, click Export to CSV to save the information in a comma separated file (csv) on your computer.
