calcium carbonate deposits from other organisms such as calcareous algae”

characteristics of plants and are often mistaken for rocks.– French biologist J.A. de Peysonell concluded they were animals in

1753– Get as much as 90 percent of their energy from the organic

byproducts of photosynthesis.– Also capture and consume live prey using their tentacles(Night)
