Security & Crime

Like places all over the world, USA has dangerous neighborhoods. Common sense is an effective weapon. Do not walk alone at night. Keep a careful eye on belongings – if you have any valuables, you may want to lock them in the hotel safe.

110 volts. Standard electric plugs, as illustrated, have two flat blades. The plugs on some newer appliances have a third round grounding pin. Please bring along your own adaptors as the hotels have limited quantities.

Do pack some of your clothes and toiletries in your spouse’s bag, and vice versa – in case your luggage is delayed, you will still have the essentials till your luggage is delivered.

TRAVELIG LONG DISTANCE

Pack at least 1 extra change of clothes and travel-size toiletries in a hand-carry luggage, to refresh yourself during the long journey – and, just in case, your luggage is delayed.

Drink Water, avoid alcohol

Traveling long distances can be dehydrating – drink water or juices. And use a lip balm to avoid cracked lips.

Travel InsuranceAmway (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd has purchased a basic travel insurance policy for all the participants. However, the basic travel insurance only covers basic medical and evacuation expenses, travel inconvenience benefits and personal accident benefits. Please take note that the insurance company will not pay under any section for loss or liability directly or indirectly arising as a result of: any injuries or sickness contracted within 90 days prior to the effective date of insurance coverage; acts of war; participation in illegal acts; professional sports; action sports such as hang-gliding, parachuting, gliding, bungee-jumping; pregnancy or childbirth; suicide or self- inflicted injury; AIDS, mental and nervous disorder; active military and naval service; flight crew (except as a passenger).

Should you need coverage other than the basic provision above, you are recommended to purchase the necessary travel insurance policy for the duration of the trip.

A Gentle Reminder…

• You are an Amway Ambassador. Your actions, behaviour and words should be respectful and disciplined.

• Always be punctual (be early!). Be respectful of other leaders, don’t make them wait for you.

• Don’t move around in the air planewhen it is taking off or landing, and also when meals are being served.

• When the lights are switch off, many passengers may want to sleep – do not disturb others.

• For buffets, take a little to taste, come back another round for more. Not eating what is taken is wasteful. Don’t rush, the food will be replenished.

• Don’t pack or take away food from the buffet. Remember you’re a leader and an Ambassador.

Travel Tips for USA…

Jet Lag: A temporary disruption of the body's sleep/wake rhythm caused by air travel through multiple time zones (usually 3 of more zones) and is characterized by fatigue, gastrointestinal disturbances, and irritability, caused by a disruption in circadian rhythms. Here are some tips:

Reset your watch to local time

Soak up natural sunlight to cue your body that it is time to be awake.

Get some exercise, but don't overdo it; a good option is a gentle walk outside

Take a short nap if you are really tired and sleep for no longer than an hour.

Go to bed at a reasonable time. Even if you feel like dropping off at 5 p.m., try to hold out until at least 8 or 9 p.m. so that you won't wake up too early the next morning.
