To date more than 97,000 teachers have achieved National Board Certification

• 2,379 in Virginia • 101 in Henrico County Public Schools• 20 HCPS candidates in 2011-2012 cohort• 4 HCPS teachers are currently in the Take One • 6 HCPS teachers are advanced candidates this

year (in Year 2 or Year 3 of the process)

$2565 is the total cost. ALL candidates in HCPS must pay $565. The remainder ($2,000) has been covered by state grant monies and HCPS in the past. THIS WILL DEPEND ON THE FINAL BUDGET IN HCPS THIS YEAR (We will likely have a final answer on this by March 2.)

Between 10 and 15 teachers from HCPS will be accepted into the 2012-2013 cohort (budget-dependent). A structured support program/cohort is provided for these 10-15 teachers, along with other teachers from the Richmond-metro area. 2 professional leave days are given to complete portfolio (pending budget approval).All re-certification credits (180 points) are awarded to teachers who complete the process.
