Introduction

In this lesson, students will learn how to

accurately and neatly to scale complete a

revolve drawing of a nose cone.


Lesson Objectives

1. Define terms associated with the lesson: height, width, axis, planes.

2. Identify views and dimensions.

3. Lay out overall shape in 2-D and convert to a solid.

4. Identify and understand a polyline.


Storyboard - to revolve an object

Construct all segments to the shape of choice.

(In this case a nose cone.)

Close all ends to line segments.

Revolve the object around an axis.

Choose the axis line from top to bottom of object.

Choose the revolutions ( 360 degrees ) full circle.

Enter and the object will revolve.

By using the same method, see if you can do this problem. Can you revolve your own wheel?


How many parts can you revolve? If you wish to fly this rocket to these scales and this thrust (example 27 psi) it will travel 75 feet.


From examples below use your own dimensions and revolve.
