District Copyright Policy

Since I am not currently employed as a Media Specialist, or even employed in a

school district in any capacity, I researched several school district’s copyright policy for

this assignment. Most of the Metro Atlanta counties have copyright policies in place that

can be somewhat vague. Not unexpectedly some of the smaller Northeast Georgia

counties do not have publicly posted copyright policies.

Of the Metro Atlanta area school district copyright policies, the most

comprehensive policy is that established by the Cobb County School District. Their

copyright policy provides information about the copyright of their materials and also

about copyright infringement complaints. The information outlined on the other Metro

Atlanta area counties (specifically DeKalb and Fulton counties) is barebones in
