God's door swings true Pastor les
We have a closet door in our home that swings on a brokenhinge. Of course, the door won’t open properly. It’s very frustrating.
(Pat suggests that it might be a good idea to get it fixed).
Our faith hangs on the hinge of a resurrection. The ApostlePaul says in the Bible that “If Christ is not raised, then our faith is
useless” (I Corinthians 15:14). If Jesus is still in the grave, then Easter isa farce and the foundation of our hope in Christ crumbles; but, the evidence isabundant, clear and convincing. The stone that was rolled away from the tomb,
the missing body of Jesus and the numerous visual appearances of Jesus on theearth after His death on the Cross are all sure and certain evidences that our
Saviour is alive. Jesus conquered death and the grave, and because He lives – wewho believe will live with Him forever.
Christ is risen! The door of our faith swings on a solid
hinge. Our confidence is grounded in truth. Our hope is secure. Now the Crossis not a cause for frustration but is a source of fulfillment. We had a problem
with death, but God fixed it.
