The implementation of new criteria with greater definitionof the control parameters, that determine the combustionprocess and injection control, results in new balance betweenhigh performance and fuel economy.

The use of waste-gate controlled turbines allows for thehighest torque levels in a wide range of rpm settings, whileassuring an effective delivery of high power. Modernproduction processes are employed for the engine and itscomponents, the controlled combustion inside the cylin-ders with near perfect filtration and cooling treatment, hasresulted in extremely low lubrication oil consumption.

    DESIGNEDFOR OUR FUTURE

UNCOMPROMISING EXHAUSTGAS AND NOISE EMISSION REDUCTION

    NOISE LEVEL BELOW 91-95 dBA

A perfect combustion process enables not only the reductionof hydrocarbon and nitrogen oxide emissions, but alsoreduces fuel burning, thereby assisting in curtailing thegreenhouse effect. The reduction of noise emissions, providedby a rigid structure, has been improved with the adoptionof rubber gaskets on cover and sump. Further enhancementsare due to the pilot injection which, by facilitating a progressiveand complete combustion, softens the typical Diesel engineknock. With a noise level of 91 dBA, 95 dBA with mechanicalpump, (at rated power) they are in absolute terms thequietest in their respective category of use. They complywith all major certification standards today, in terms ofgaseous emissions, EPA-CARB, directive CE, with noconsumption penalties, and the engineering solutions adoptedhave allowed for a considerable reduction in operatingcosts, thanks to extented operating times betweenmaintenance.

    TOP PERFORMANCE ANDEFFICIENCY

EXCELLENT TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTIONSFOR THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE

    PERFORMANCE / VALUE RATIO

The excellent performance of NEF engines originates inthe new-design intake and exhaust ducts where the gasexchange phases and intake air turbulence are optimizedand the potential of the new injection systems is fully utilized.A perfect diffusion of the spray thus sets the stage for aprogressive and complete combustion of the injected fuel, thereby providing for the high thermodynamic efficiencythat enables to deliver the best performance in terms oftorque and power, as well as fuel economy. The widerange of engines equipped with rotary or in-line pumpinjection system is further broadened by those fitted withthe Common Rail system with total electronic control.

    OF A HIGH TECH DESIGN

NEF is the result of the experience accumulated withmillions of engines manufactured and placed in serviceworldwide, in the most demanding applications, and itsdesign takes into account this vast experience, avoiding anycompromise that could detract, even to a minimal extent, from its best behavior. NEF was conceived and developedas a robust design. Design solutions inherited from heavy-duty engines and the absolute precision of the workprocesses assure the highest possible operating reliabilityand long life.
