Teaser Email Teaser emails will be sent on August 16 and August 23. Teasers do not contain the link to the pledge site, but simply announce that the CCC campaign is starting soon.
18
Kickoff Email
This email will be sent to all employees on August 30. The email contains the link to the ePledge login page as well as the User ID and Password. - User ID: ‘ccc’ + State Employee ID# - Password: will be given in the email The email will also include an attached document containing instructions for making a pledge through ePledge. Reminder emails will be sent periodically throughout the campaign. Like the kickoff email, they will contain the link to the site and pledging instructions. Reminders will only be sent to employees who have not responded to the ePledge site, either by making a pledge, or by selecting the No Gift option. If an employee turns in a pledge card, he/she will continue to receive reminder emails until that pledge has been processed.
19
Pledge Replication Page This page will be displayed if the employee’s previous year’s pledge is eligible for replication. A previous year’s pledge is eligible for replication if each of the criteria below is true: • it was a payroll deduction pledge made on
ePledge • it was the only pledge made the previous
year • each charity to which it was designated is
still part of the CCC campaign • the donor has not transferred to a different
State agency since the pledge was made. Donors can choose to keep their pledge exactly like last year’s pledge, increase it by a certain dollar amount or percentage, keep the amount the same, but clear all designations (i.e. direct their gift to the general fund), or disregard the replication options and create a new pledge. If a donor chooses to increase his gift by a dollar amount or a percentage, the additional amount will be distributed among the same charities chosen the previous year (if any) and will follow the same percentage ratios as the previous year. Donors who choose a replication option will skip the Pledge Entry Page, and the Designation Page, proceeding directly to the Preferences Page. If a pledge is not eligible for replication, this screen will not be displayed and the donor will instead be taken to the Pledge Entry Page.
21
Pledge Acknowledgement Email
This email will be sent to all donors upon completion of their pledge. If a donor accidentally deletes this email , he can log back into ePledge and re-print it by going to the ‘PAST YEAR PLEDGES’ from the top menu.
22
Pledge Verification Page – Electronic Check Pledge
Review the pledge. If this is an electronic check pledge, click ‘Continue’ to move to the Payment Authorization Page to enter the bank information. To make corrections to the pledge, click ‘Back’. Click ‘Cancel’ to delete the pledge.
23
All fields are required. The donor’s name will already be populated, as will the address and email if that information is already in the system. This page contains links to a .pdf image showing the donor where to find the bank routing number and the account number. The bank information and the account information are NOT collected or stored in the ePledge system, even momentarily. This page links directly to the secure processing organization used by the CCC. The processing organization – Cybersource – is fully PCI Compliant and is an industry leader in e-commerce payments.

Sample Report (.pdf Format)
The .pdf version of the report has a cleaner layout and is better for printing, but cannot be manipulated in any way.
Leadership Giving
A leadership gift is a donation of $520 or greater for the year (payroll deduction or one time gift).
The leadership giving levels are:
Category Donation Level One-time Equivalent
Philanthropist $80 + per pay $2,080.00 +
Benefactor $60.00-$79.99 per pay $1,560.00 - $2,079.99
Humanitarian $40.00-$59.99 per pay $1,040.00 - $1,559.99
Patron $20.00-$39.99 per pay $520.00 - $1,039.99
Leadership givers are important to the success of the CCC. Last year, a significant portion (61.2
percent) of the final campaign total was raised through the generosity of state employees giving
at leadership levels. Leadership givers receive special recognition for their generosity and are
acknowledged on the CCC website at: ohio.gov/ohioccc.
10 STEPS IN BUILDING A SUCCESSFUL CAMPAIGN
1. Be prepared with current information
Attend the CCC Coordinator training session in preparation for the campaign. Review the
Resource Guide and ePledge instructions.
2. Secure leadership support and giving
Having top down support is key to a successful campaign. Take time to touch base with your
director and ask for him or her to show their support by attending campaign meetings and/or
sending out a supportive letter to staff.
3. Follow campaign timelines and identify techniques
Set a campaign timeline and commit to model campaign techniques based on your agency’s
potential. Your campaign liaison can be a resource to help you tailor ideas according to your
agency’s culture. Check out the sample timeline and special event ideas at the end of this guide
to get started.
4. Recruit your campaign team
Recruit a campaign planning team to represent all areas of your agency.
10 STEPS IN BUILDING A SUCCESSFUL CAMPAIGN
5. Develop your plan
Meet with your campaign liaison and campaign team to establish a working plan.
6. Train your campaign team
Your campaign liaison will help train and educate your campaign volunteers, including committee
members and/or key workers.
7. Promote and educate, ask for pledges
Explain to employees how the CCC benefits charities locally, nationally, and internationally. Use
educational activities during the campaign and throughout the year. These can include group
meetings, agency tours or speakers, campaign video, marketing publications and web-based
resources. Distribute incentives to donors as you receive them to peak the interest of others. Post
campaign information in high-traffic areas.
The number one reason that people don’t give is because they are not asked. Make sure every
employee gets campaign information and is asked if they want to participate. The personal touch
is important so talk to as many people face-to-face as you (and your committee) can.
10 STEPS IN BUILDING A SUCCESSFUL CAMPAIGN
8. Kick off your campaign
Plan an agency kick-off event. You can invite federations to share information, bring a CCO rep to
share the impact of your donations, or develop a fun staff event to get everyone started. Be sure
to secure dates for the agency director’s attendance. A key strategy for campaign success is your
director’s involvement. Their engagement shows staff that the campaign is important.
9. Announce results and say thanks, again and again
Close your agency campaign and total your results with your campaign liaison. Publicize
campaign results throughout the agency. Thank all donors and recognize all volunteers. SAY
THANK YOU!
10. Establish year-round communication on the CCC’s impact. Establish a CCC solicitation program for new hires through your HR department.
Share news of CCC results through newsletters and at staff meetings.
