HEART OF OHIO TOLE CHAPTER WELCOMES YOU TO THE 37TH HOOT CONVENTION

“COOKING UP SOME PAINTING FUN!”

Please accept HOOT’s invitation to attend the 37th HOOT Decorative Painting Convention, “COOKING UP SOME PAINTING FUN!”  Once again, our Chapter has planned a fun‐filled week of painting classes with some of the finest decorative painting teachers available. We have four Special Event classes, taught by Cheri Rol, Mark Polomchak, Tina Sue Norris, and Lori Puszakowski‐Schmidt to get the week off to an exciting start. These classes will be the only classes on Monday morning. Regular classes will begin at 2:00 pm.

Our Exhibit Hall will be filled with vendors who have a variety of wares to tempt even the most discriminating painter.

We have scheduled the two‐hour classes along with the 4‐, 6‐, and 8‐hour classes in the catalog so you can see them before convention and schedule them when you register in April.

We hope that you will enter the Art Show with that special piece of artwork you are proud of.

We encourage you to stay at the Hyatt and be eligible for the Hyatt Rewards.

We will be in both the Greater Columbus Convention Center and in the Arena Hyatt Regency again this year.  Our Checkroom will be open from Monday afternoon thru Saturday at 2 pm.

Our Chapter has compiled a recipe book featuring favorite recipes from our members and teachers. They will make great gifts and will be available in our Gift Shop.

So make a cup of tea, settle in a comfortable chair and begin dreaming of all the painting classes you will take when you will be “Cooking Up Some Painting Fun!”

Many of my students are attracted to color pencil because it’s a clean, easy and fun medium. I teach a color pencil method that doesn’t require “heavy layering”. I also teach the use of dramatic lighting, which makes their work stand out. In addition to giving complete project instruction in my seminars, I always cover the fundamentals of line, light, shadow, form, value, contrast, perspective, design, and composition to take with you for use in other art projects. My students tell me they walk away with much more information and instruction than they have ever had before.!
