Disco Fever Takes Over JacksOnville

Polyester leisure suits, bell-bottoms, cat suits, and platform shoes were just a few items worn by many community members on Feb. 28, 2015. Disco Fever, Onslow Memorial Hospital’s 7th An-nual Fundraiser, supported Project Panda Bear and Project 2020. With the support of the community we were able to reach our goal of purchasing 5 new Panda Infant Warmers for the Nursery and Labor & Delivery units at Onslow Memorial Hospital.

During this “far out” event, guests had the opportunity to bid on items in the silent and live auctions, dance “The Hustle” with the A-Town, A-List and take crazy photos with Props Photo Booth. The dance floor was packed all evening as guests showed off their 1970’s attire.

We are grateful for the remarkable work of our Foundation Board, the Events Com-mittee, the local area Marines, donors, and community members that help make the event possible and help to impact the entire community by providing the best health-care, right here at home. A special thanks to Karin Dickerson, Maria Dempster, Jennifer Fields, and Jackie Dillingham for turning the American Legion into a 1970’s Discotheque. The silent auction was a huge success as well due to the expertise of Gayle Alvis and Paula Garris.

“This is the seventh year in a row that the great people and businesses of Jacksonville and Onslow County have come together to support our event that impacts the entire community by helping provide the best healthcare avail-able in our area,” said OMH Foundation Board Chair Marty Gold-man. This event could not have been possible without the dedi-cation of the Foundation Board, the Events Committee and our Marine Corps/Navy volunteers.  “We are extremely grateful for the community involvement and are looking forward to another fun event next year!” Mark your calendars for February 27, 2016 for the “Roaring Twenties”.
