Welcome Fellow NPC Members!I want to welcome you to the National Plasterers Council’s 30th Annual Conference!
This is going to be a very special conference to me, since it will be my first conference as your new Chairman. I am delighted that my first conference as Chairman is also the NPC’s 30th conference— a great milestone for our organization and industry. However, I am most excited about our venue. The Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill is a fabulous property. We will have great access to everything DC has to offer, which is saying a lot! From a possible White House tour to the Smithsonian, I certainly plan to take full advantage of this opportunity.
As past attendees can attest, the social opportunities are always a blast at our conference, but the real payoff is in the program. This year we have lined up an incredible education slate designed to address your most pressing challenges. Dominick Mondi from NESPA will join us on a Pool Winterization panel, the Business Track will offer a class on Succession Planning, and we’re planning a very special presentation called The War Room: A Peek Inside Scheduling, Logistics and Work Flow. Once again, many classes will be eligible for continuing education units (CEU’s) from the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals (APSP).
If I have learned anything from attending these conferences over the years, it is that the best return on investment comes from the networking. From our Opening Reception to our closing trade show, you will enjoy plenty of opportunities to discuss the issues you face in the field with peers from across the country and suppliers of a full range of products and services. I could never have duplicated what I’ve learned through networking at NPC Conference’s anywhere else!
So, join this sun-loving Californian as I grab my coat and head to Washington! I plan to beat the summer tourism season, see the sites, learn from our great teachers, and bend an elbow with fellow plasterers across the country this February! I look forward to seeing you there!
White House Visit In addition to the many Washington DC attractions, there may be an opportunity for the NPC to organize a free tour of the White House. Public tours of the White House include the public rooms in the East Wing, which includes the Blue Room, Red Room and Green Room; the State Dining Room; the China Room; and a view of the White House Rose Garden. We are in the process of petitioning the White House for this tour. Please understand that due to national security concerns there is a rigorous process that we will need to engage by November 5th. If you are interested, then please understand the NPC will need to gather certain sensitive information from you, such as social security number. Although the tour itself will be free, there will be a nominal fee to cover transportation. If we are approved (which may only be 4 weeks prior), we will notify NPC members of the opportunity, and open registration for this free standing event.
