The first strategic direction for practice, is “legislation that govern the nursing profession” which requires in its action plan to develop and activate legislation relating to licensing mechanisms such as conditions for renewal, withdrawal or cancellation of license.
For renewal, continuing education is required from accredited organization.
Since licensure for all professions is for life, continuing education is not mandatory.

Standards of Accrediting Education and
Continuing Education
Standard one; the educational program should be based on need
assessment for competence development to promote the quality of
care
Standard two: the educational program contains
comprehensive plan including a main aim, goal, objective and
content, as well as teaching methods, resources and evaluation
process
Standard three : the accreditation of educational programs

organization, a copy of the program plan and course classification.
For each standard there are indicators and measurable elements

Education Programs and Courses
According to the needs of organizations JNC conducted a
number of continuing education courses focusing on areas
that were not addressed before such as disaster nursing ,
active aging, and mental health nursing …..not forgetting
the council’s main role as public protector.
The council recognized the importance of having
accreditation from a recognized international organization
to focus on quality of education and accreditation
A request was submitted to the American Nurses
Credentialing Center (ANCC) to be accredited as provider
of continuing Education
Organizing Continuing Education Based
on Accreditation
The Council submitted an in-depth analysis of its education program to
determine its capacity to provide quality continuing education activities for
nurses. In order to be accredited, JNC documented adherence to all applicable
criteria based around 1) goals and organization, 2) educational design, 3) unit
outcomes evaluation, and 4) unit operations.
a teleconference was conducted to individuals who evaluated the submitted
documents. These individuals were currently engaged in continuing nursing
education and were well-qualified to provide a valid peer review of JNC.
The Council agreed to abide by the standards of the ANCC Accreditation
Program and to regulate themselves by taking responsibility for their own
improvement.
JNC as accredited organization by ANCC must submit a new application
before the end of each accreditation period to continue their accreditation
status.
