IES Nosa Señora dos Ollos Grandes is a Spanish high school located in the North-West of Spain, whose students range from 12 to 25 years old. The number of students is around 850. Teachingpersonal is 75 and other workers number is 8. They teach general education and also professionaltraining in sports and leisure monitor and athleticism trainer. Their institution is located in the city ofLugo, a medium-sized town, and although most of the students come from middle class families, asmall proportion of them live in suburban and rural areas and have some financial difficulties toachieve a higher level education and to travel abroad. IES Nosa Señora dos Ollos Grandes is one ofthe oldest high school in town, with a lot of experience in international projects. Besides the Europeanprojects referred to below, they are developing a long term partnership with French and Germanschools. They also host foreign teachers in job-shadowing stages. Its town belongs to one of the leastdeveloped areas in our country, characterized by a higher unemployment rate and a small number ofenterprises. The rate of business creation is also one of the lowest in the area, despite all the effortsmade by the Administration to foster entrepreneurship. Despite all this, the environment and culturalheritage of the city and its surrounding areas are of a astonishing richness. The city area is located inan UNESCO Biosphere Reserve named "Terras do Miño". The Roman wall around Lugo's downtownis also a UNESCO World Heritage site. Around the city there are a lot of Red Natura 2000 protectedspaces. So the project intention is to make our students aware of the enormous richness that theirliving area has as well as provide them the needed tools to make the most of it from a personal, social and economic point of view. The teachers in charge of the project have some experiencetaking part and coordinating international projects, e-Twinning ones as well as Erasmus+`ones. Theyare used to work in interdisciplinary projects on the field of entrepreneurship and heritage and also toact as hostages for foreign teachers and students in international projects. They have a goodcommand of foreign languages as it can be testified by the number of CLIL subjects taught at theschool (Economics, Entrepreneurship, Philosophy, Technology and Physical Education). They arewell known by their creativity and hard working, being involved in different projects, particularly thoserelated to environmental education and heritage valuation.

PCKZiU is a vocational secondary school (16-19), that offers a 4 year education and leavers andvocational exams in different sectors:Tourism, Hotel management, Information Technology,Economy and Gastronomy. The school also offers a 3 year education in sectors: shop assistant andmulti-vocational classes. There are over 900 students and 70 teachers. The school is located in theeastern suburb of Wieliczka, that has a well developped public transport service (buses) to Cracow. Most students are from nearby villages , Wieliczka and suburbs of Cracow. Many students comefrom poor, disadvantaged families, that live in the area of Wieliczka. There is also a number of minorstudents , who are pregnant at age of 16, or 17, so the school provide them particular lessons athome to prevent early school leaving. There is also a group of students who live in foster families andorphans located nearby. Teachers develop their skills and qualifications doing different courses inPoland and abroad (the UK, Ireland, Germany, Spain), that motivate them, improve quality of workand sense of achievement. Our students have been participating in projects and competitions foryears. Some of them are organised at school, or at local level( foreign languages, sport, litterature, theatre, art and photography competitions), and others are international projects (Leonardo da Vinciand Erasmus+ for Hotel management and Tourism students (internships in Germany) and aComenius project for :IT, Economy, Tourism, Hotel management students, that was awardedEuropean Quality Label in 2015). All this make them open, tolerant, confident. For many of them it isthe only opportunity to go abroad, meet teenagers from foreign schools, practise English in realsituations as many of them come from poor rural areas of Wieliczka, or disadvataged suburbs ofCracow. They can compare different teaching methods, collaborate, show their own initiative. Englishteachers organise a foreign culture and language "Day" every year: British, America, Australian,Spanish days. Tourism and Hotel management teachers organise at school Tourism and Hotel fair. Many teachers are involved in these activities: English, German, Tourism, Economy, History,Geography, IT, Nutrition. The project coordinator, Beata Chla, is an English teacher, also fluent inFrench and Spanish and with experience managing diverse international projects. In this particularproject they will work in a team of three teachers, with the direct knowledge and implication of theschool direction and management. Their knowledge of the Polish culture and the memories of therecent European past in nearby places will contribute to reinforce the idea of the need to understandour differences to build together a brighter future, leaving aside incomprehension, xenophobia anddiscrimination in a really multicultural atmosphere.

Druskininkai is situated on the border with Byelorussia and Poland, working in closecooperation with the schools from those countries. There are some students from ethnic minoritiesand our teachers educate children to respect difference and to deal with the problems to alleviatexenophobic outbreaks. Druskininkai Rytas Gymnasium is a progressive educational institution and itsmanagers have a positive attitude regarding developmental projects. A well-trained and committedteachers staff are in charge for international projects, led by Gitana Stukienė, an English teacher witha significant experience in both national and EU projects since 1999, contact person and a projectcoordinator for the future project. The teacher and her staff have good organisational skills andexperience in organising students exchange activities: the team keeps enlarging each year byenrolling new teachers, who cooperate in management issues and project activities: given a goodnumber of teachers involved, there is a low risk of losing the continuity due to unpredictable events. This particular project will give our students a perfect opportunity to take part in cross-curricularstudies. In addition, they will be able to improve not only their skills in written and spoken English butalso will be encouraged to learn more languages by interacting with international students. The aim ofDruskininkai Rytas Gymnasium is to develop skills such as problem solving, critical thinking andtaking part in teamwork, helping to choose an appropriate career and develop self-confidence andself-esteem, acquire attitudes, values and responsibilities as good citizens of Lithuania and the worldat large.

Colegiul Economic Buzau is a vocational training economics college in the south east of Romania. There are 1050 students (14-19 years old) and 70 teachers. Having an economic profile withemphasis on business studies, it is quite popular all over their region. Most of their students are notparticularly confronted with the risk of social exclusion but a big part of them come from poor familiesand monoparental situations. Also increasingly students live alone, as both parents work abroad. This is reflected in their lifestyle. Also quite an important part of our students are from Roma familiesand the school is making an effort to integrate them into its program, trying to create equal chances. The school is deeply concerned with the promotion of Romanian culture across Europe, as wetestified across former collaborations in European projects. Also, Romania is well know for the qualityof their natural areas and their well preserved spaces, as well as a culture deeply rooted in the landand based on agricultural seasons and activities. The school is alsofully compromised with theteaching of entrepreneurial skills, having developed together in the past topic specific projects. Theirexpertise and experience with international projects, not only dealing with project management andteaching and training activities for students, but also with teacher training and the organization ofseminars and study visits is very helpful as we intend to organize this type of activities and most ofour partners have no experience at all in that particular area. Catalina Postovei, senior marketing andaccountancy teacher at the school is a well know person in the city with a wide range of personal andprofessional relations very helpful when it comes to organizing learning and training activities forstudents. She also has a good knowledge of the natural and cultural heritage of the area, which willbe very helpful to develop this project. She also has a good command of foreign languages, particularly English and French, ITC skills and planning and organizational abilities. She will work inclose relations with a group of teachers in her school, with different specialties, which range fromEnglish to Accountancy, Marketing, ITC, History, etc. The direction of school back up all her projectsand promotes her involvement in new ones, taking actively part in most of them. The participatingteachers have extensive knowledge of economic processes and/ or teach foreign languages. Theyhave participated in various European projects and are particularly EXPERIENCED IN TRYING TOBRING YOUNG PEOPLE INTO EMPLOYMENT, especially the socially disfavoured. They are alsoused to work with TRAINING FIRMS to practice company activites, e.g. TAKING PART IN FAIRS.

Have you participated in a European Union granted project in the 3 years preceding this application?

Please describe the motivation for your project and explain why it should be funded.

Actual society is rapidly changing, urban areas are becoming more widespread. Consum technologyis incorporated at a rapid pace and at younger ages. Social networks are creating a virtual realitycontext where every novelty is quickly adopted, becomes tendency and is generalized. At the sametime, economic globalization, world markets, multinational firms, transnational workers and regionalcrisis and integration are promoting a framework where people is expected to move more frequentlyfrom their birthplaces to different locations. We think this globalized urban and technological environment is really positive because it helpspeople to communicate and to relate to each other in a richer and diverse way, increasing the optionsand possibilities to develop and promote at individual and community level. But it also involves somerisks: homogeneous user profiles, conflicts, ghettos, inequalities, whole communities set aside theeconomic and social development, etc.To succeed in this new situation it is important to know how to communicate with each other in amulticultural context, how to relate with people from other cultures, other countries, othercommunities, with different languages, religions, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. And thefirst step in this direction is to know what defines the identity of people, at individual and communitylevel; what defines our own identity. But identity is a complex concept with different elements and perspectives. In this project we want tospecifically focus on those elements that, nowadays are not so frequently addressed by our modernway of life: nature and cultural heritage.Nature is something that is always taken for granted, we are really familiar with it when we are kidsbut it usually fades away as we grow up and new interests fill our life: friends, technologies, sports,works,... This lack of consideration toward the environment and natural spaces is reflected in theglobal problems we face today: climate change and global warming, biodiversity loss, soil and waterpollution, fires, desertification, ...We need to take action and to be aware of the importance of Nature is a key element in the processof solving those problems. Also, the lack of contact with Nature is starting to be considered as part ofthe behavioral problems our kids suffer today. Nature deficit disorder, expression used in RichardLouv’s 2005 book “Last Child in the Woods”, draw attention to the less time we spend outdoors, deriving some consequences on our own adult behavior and, of course, our children’s.Cultural heritage is also needed of attention. We are usually focused on the great landmarks ofculture and heritage: famous monuments, great pictures and sculptures, well-known buildings... Inthis project we intend to valorize all those cultural, material and non material resources at local levelthat, not being milestones of civilization, also help us to explain who we are, our history and ouridiosyncrasy.

What are the objectives you would like to achieve and concrete results you would like to produce? How are these objectives linked to the priorities you have selected?

With this project we intend to make explicit some of the elements that define a person/communityidentity. And we consider that our natural and cultural heritage is a relevant element in this process. We plan our project as a discovery process where students are guided to identify the main featuresof their identity, linking those to their heritage. So our objectives will be:- To teach our pupils the interest and amazement about natural and cultural heritage of people, particularly in Europe and the understanding of how that heritage shapes their identity and theirvalues.- To highlight the importance of environment as an essential element in our lives, delving into itsknowledge, valuation and appreciation, becoming aware of the risks that threat its integrity and of theits importance as source of important resources, not only economics, but also social, cultural andspiritual ones, in the search of the sustainable use of all of them.- To put into practice new methodological tools that using as starting point local natural and culturalresources permit a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to the educational activity in an open, flexible and coordinated way that makes it possible to teach XXIst century competences and allowslearning to become a more interesting and playful activity.- To explore the potential of a higher exposure to natural and cultural heritage on our pupils selfesteem level and social and emotional intelligence and, therefore, reducing conflict, promoting co-existence and harmony and helping to reduce school failure.- To promote creativity and entrepreneurship as the needed attitudes for the promotion and thevaluation of environment and material and immaterial cultural heritage.

All this objectives are directly connected with our first horizontal objective: Social and educationalvalue of European Heritage. But they will also promote the development of relevant and high qualityskills and competences in the students and teachers involved and will need to make an intensive useof ICT tools.

How are the planned activities going to lead to achievement of the project's objectives?

The reflection about what shapes identity and the influence of natural and cultural heritage will helppupils to understand and realize the importance of the surrounding environment on who we are. Theguided visits to those local places in their own cities and in foreign ones, will lead them to discoverthe wealth that lies in their own neighborhood. Those guided visits will be centered on the mainvalues of the heritage and its peculiarities, with a clear purpose to make students aware of theimportance of those resources and the need to preserve them.Teachers will also receive inputs on how heritage can be used as an educational tool. But also localentrepreneurs, business and social ones, will teach them on how can heritage be a powerful tool forthe development of the community. Those inputs will be very helpful to develop activities withstudents to make them aware of the importance of those resources.Teachers will also pay attention to how the planned outdoors activities have an influence on studentsself-esteem and social and emotional intelligence, as we consider that a closer relation with thesurrounding elements in the environment and the reflection on their own identity will help students tobe more aware of their own emotions and feelings, as well as the others' ones. Planned activities willalways have an insight on one’s own emotions, as well as others, to make students aware of the keyrole of them for the success of every initiative. The entrepreneurial planned activities will lead to the promotion of creativity related to the valuationof natural and cultural heritage, focusing on the threats it's exposed to, but mainly on theopportunities it represents to develop economic or social initiatives. All through the project we will work on foreign languages skills, as communication between thepartners from the different countries will be made using mainly English as a common language. Butwe will also provide students with the needed input about the host country languages, something thatwill be considered and highlighted as of great importance as part of the immaterial cultural heritage. And we intend to do it encouraging host students to act as language teachers for their foreigncolleagues, under teachers close supervision. This way students will learn about their own languagebasics at the same time they create their own teaching resources and have a sense of achievement.New technologies will also be present all the time in the project. Although they will not be an objectiveby themselves they will be a tool, a powerful one, as all the communication, coordination andpresentations will be based on them: cloud sharing, e-mail, social networks, dissemination, designtools. Some activities will be directed to teach students how to develop small projects, complex ones, using ICT (video creation), but in most of the cases, teachers will foster students to use commontools with and educational purpose.

Please briefly describe who will take part in the project, including:

- The different groups that will take part in the project activities (e.g. pupils, teachers, other schoolstaff, parents, etc.), including participants who will participate locally.

- How are these groups going to participate?

- If pupils are involved in the project, please specify their age groups.

Note that specific details on selection of participants in Learning, teaching and training activities donot need to be repeated here if they are described in the dedicated section of the form: LearningTeaching Training

Although mainly addressed to pupils, teachers and families directly involved in the project, we expectan influence on the whole educational community of the partner schools involved as well in theirsocieties.Students: Their ages will be among 15 and 19 years old, given the differences among countries, schools and administrative requirements among partners. They will be the main objective of theproject and target of most of the planned activities. The activities will designed for them to be leadrole and to be developed by them, following the principle of "learning by doing" and "problem solving"methodology, stressing the achievement of twenty first century competences.Teachers: As managers of the project, we expect from them an important creative effort in theplanning and designing of learning activities, as well as coordination, flexibility and team work toachieve the project results. In exchange, they will have a good opportunity for professionaldevelopment via the exchange of innovative teaching activities, their creation in a group of proactiveprofessionals and they carrying out. They will also be the target group of specific training to help themto develop activities oriented to make the most of heritage as a teaching resource and to createentrepreneurial projects centered on natural and cultural local elements.Families: Families are a key element in the transmision of cultural heritage, specially immaterial one(language, food, traditions, values). But also as recipients of foreign heritage; they need to value theopportunity this project will provide them with of being in close contact with students and people fromother countries with a different cultural and social background. They need to celebrate de differencesand the similitudes between them as a cultural wealth and seize the opportunity to reinforce self-identity and promote tolerance and mutual understanding, cornerstone of the building of realEuropean citizenship and intercultural competence.Other schools: The methodology created in the project, involving outdoor heritage oriented activitieswith a multidisciplinary approach where students are the main actors, will be thought to be easilydeveloped in other schools, together at international level, but also individually. The material createdwill be made publicly available under creative commons license.Local agents: Local business, associations, NGOs, entrepreneurs, local authorities, neigboringuniversities, all of them working with nature and heritage in different projects will be invited to makecontributions to the project, sharing their know-how with our teachers and students, providing aquality insight into the matter.Society: We intend to show the society that we can work together with other schools promotion thewealth of our heritage and learn together to preserve it and also to use in a sustainable way.

How many participants would fall into thiscategory? 10

Which types of situations are these participants facing?

Economic obstacles

Cultural differences

How will you support these participants so that they will fully engage in the planned activities?

We understand that the grants in the project are important enough as to cover all participants in theproject, not paying attention to their personal economic situation. In addition, whenever taking part ina mobility abroad, students will be hosted by host country families, therefore the students' spendingwill be reduced. In those cases where one of the families from students facing economic obstacleshas to face a hosting situation of a foreign students, schools will help those families with a quantityenough to cover the extra costs that the hosting may involve.Cultural differences among students will presumably show up when working together or being hostfor families from a different country. These situations will be solve with a previous specific trainingabout the cultural differences between them and the hosting country, trying to minimize possiblemisunderstandings that could be considered as disrespect. School will also make an effort promotingtolerance and mutual comprehension among participants from different countries.

Please describe the tasks and responsibilities of each partner school. Explain how you will ensuresound management of the project and good cooperation and communication between partnersduring its implementation.

The school coordinator will be in charge of leading and coordinating the project, organizing thedifferent activities to be carried out for the project members. Each partner will develop at local levelthose activities that need to be carried out by every partner: study visits, inquiries and presentationswith students, organization of joint activities during mobilities, dissemination activities, etc.The teaching and learning activities with students will be organized by the host school following theprogram previously established and agreed by all members. Special attention will be paid to logisticand hosting of students in families. The evaluation of each mobility will be be carried out by the host school, via assessment inquiriesand the writing of a report on the visits. All the school partners will take part in an e-Twinning project, created by the coordinator. The e-Twinning project will be used as a back up of all the Erasmus+ project activities and all partners willcontribute with the products and results of their activities. They will use e-Twinning to create eventsrelated with the project development, like seminars, study visits, workshops, etc.The coordination among teachers will be made via ICT, namely e-mail and social networks, likeWhatsapp. Eventually, via e-Twinning events, partners will organize virtual meetings for a moreaccurate project coordination, especially at mid project and at the end of the project. We have also planned short-term staff training meetings to organize workshops about how to dealwith development issues like the design of assessment inquiries, the organization of study visits, thedevelopment of a standard program of joint activities with students and learn to design an effectiveprogram of dissemination activities.Teachers workshops on short-term training activities will also deal with methodological questionsabout how to use heritage as an educational resource, talks with heritage entrepreneurs about thedevelopment of their business idea and their personal experience, the development of complexcollaborative projects like video creation and business creation. Local experts working onadministrative organizations, asociations or NGOs will be invited to talk to the teachers about how tovaluate nature and heritage. At the end of the project a short-term staff training activity will be planned to share the experiences ofpartners working at local level and to put in common all the methodological achievements. The ideais to create in that final training activity the scheme of the methodology followed in the project. Thecreated material on methodology will be published under creative commons licence and madepublicly available via web. Students activities will be exemples of good practices. In all partner schools the Direction of the school and the financial administrator will be involved tomake sure the financial and organizational success of the activity.

Please make sure to include all project meetings, events and activities in the section:

How did you choose the project partners? Does your project involve schools that have neverpreviously been involved in a Strategic Partnership? If yes, please explain how the other partners cansupport them during the project.

When thinking about the project, the coordinator thought about previous partners whose location, school characteristics and the quality of the personnel involved suited his project idea about naturaland cultural heritage. He also got an idea of the aditional partners to involve: as previous partnerswere all of them South Europe countries with a strong latin background, it would be advisable toengage partners from the Nort of Europe with a not so strong Mediterranean influence. This way, diversity would be guaranted.Romanian school: Collegiul Economic Buzau was a parner in previous Erasmus+ projects, has a lotof experience working on entrepreneurial projects linked to local resources. They also have anextraordinary well preserved natural areas with great open spaces at short range from the schoollocation, like Subcarpatian mountains or Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve.Italian school: Istituto di Istruzione Superiore "G. Galilei" exchanged job-shadowing visits in the pastwith the coordination school and they created a good connection among them. Our interest areas aresimilar and their location is very atractive in terms of proximity to Abruzzos National Park and richhistoric heritage sites that can be located in all Italy. This part of the country is also famous by itsgeological configuration. The school has a lot of project related with the value of archeological sitesand land interpretation, being used to work with project based learning methodologies.Polish schoool: Powiatowe Centrum Ksztalcenia Zawodowego i Ustawicznego w Wieliczce is one ofthe new partners in the project. The location of the school, their readines to work in the project aslong as we launch our proposal and the seriouness when making contributions about it persuaded usthat it would be a good partner. It’s a vocational school working in fields that are closely related toheritage: tourism, restoration and management of touristic establishments. They will bring theirexpertise in how to deal with the valuation of natural and cultural heritage with a sustainableapproach as tourism related activities are the ones with a higher projection in this area. They alsohave some experience in international projects.Lithuanian school: Druskininku Ryto gimnazija is a general education school with an inclinationtowards arts. The important artistic tradition of the city where the school is located will suit us as weintend that the Lithuanian partner will lead artistic side of the project. Particularly those activitiesrelated with the promotion and dissemination of heritage and natural areas. They also have someexperience in international projects, and are specially interested in exploring the long-term mobilitiesside of the Erasmus+ projects, something the we would like to study as well in multilateral projectslike this.

Have you used or do you plan to use eTwinning, School Education Gateway or the Erasmus+ ProjectResults Platform for preparation, implementation or follow-up of your project? If yes, please describehow.

All the schools in the project are registered at eTwinning platform, dealing with projects in a virtualway and also as a support for Erasmus+ projects. In fact, almost all the project partners have meteach other via eTwinning: the oldest ones have met via previous Erasmus+ projects developedtogether the new ones answering to collaboration requests published on eTwinning. The coordinator of the project has used Erasmus+ Project Results Platform to find out about projectideas and potential partners to develop this project about heritage. Finally we decide to launch ourown project idea in both eTwinning and School Education Gateway. The overwhelming responseobtained allowed us to do a thorough and careful selection of our new partners. But we not onlylooked for partners for this particular project. We also offered our school to host job-shadowing andteaching assignments for teachers. Those potential partners that couldn't be selected were offered tocollaborate with us via eTwinning in the virtual project to be created and the forthcoming eventsrelated with the project. All partners also used eTwinning to check potential partners profile and background, as well as rangeof interest and number of teachers involved in eTwinning at school. Some of them even checkedSchool Education Gateway and their activity there. In the future development of the project eTwinning will play a key role, as it will be the virtual meetingpoint for students and teachers taking part in the project. Beside the creation of a specific eTwinningproject to deal with all the results, activities and persons involved in the project in a systematic way,we intend to explore the possibility of organizing events and professional development opportunitiesfor teachers, linked to the project activities and objectives. Those activities will be open also toeTwinning registered teachers who will not be directly taking part in the Erasmus+ project. We will also use eTwinning and School Education Gateway to offer job-shadowing opportunitieslinked to the mobilities of the project. This way we will get different points of view about thedeveloped tasks and will contribute to the dissemination of the project activities and results, creatingnew future relations.Teachers will also use School Education Gateway to seize professional development opportunitiesrelated with heritage via on-line course or MOOC initiatives like "Learning in a Museum", Europeana(Europe’s digital platform for cultural and scientific heritage), and project activity ideas from otherschools across Europe. All across the project International awareness days will be observed with activities planned atschools: International Museum Day (May 18), European or World Heritage Day (September-October), World environment day (June 5), International Day For Monuments and Sites (April 18),Europe Day (May 9), European Day of Languages (September, 26), schools will create eTwinningevents related with those days.

Follow UpOnce the project activities are completed, how are you going to assess if the project's objectiveshave been met?

Assessment. All the partners in the project agree about the importance of the assessment of projectactivities and results. Therefore, we carefully designed an assessment plan throughout all the projectstages:- After all the project meetings, together with the visit activities program, the host will prepare afterthe meeting a detailed journal of the visit, the highlights and the main events, agreements achieved, the main findings and results, as well as the activities programmed for the future. The partners will also design inquiries to be run with all the people involved in the visits, particularlyteachers, students and families. The results of those stories and inquiries will be the starting point forfuture project activities.- In the mean time between visits, the partners will develop the planned activities, leaving track of allof the via new technologies resources: blogs, cloud sharing files, wikis, weblogs, etc. The short-termtraining activities for teachers will also be used to reinforce that part of the project areas that may benot be working so well and to achieve a better understanding of the project objectives and improvecoordination among project members.

How will the participation in this project contribute to the development of the involved schools in thelong-term? Do you have plans to continue using the results of the project or continue to implementsome of the activities after the project's end?

All the partners are committed to find new methodologies to promote our students acquisition oftwenty first century competences and believe that new teaching methods should lead the process, using Project Based Learning in a multidisciplinary environment and making the most of the localresources at hand, specially those related with natural and cultural heritage, a they can also promotea better understanding of who we are, how we relate to each other and with our environment andfoster our self-confidence.Along the project, partners will develop teaching material and methodology, and will learn to use localresources and outdoors activities to create learning projects related with curricular content from amultidisciplinary approach. This kind of projects are key to the achievement of the neededcompetences and problem solving skills. We intend to use those materials and methodologies to keep on working on the environmental andheritage fields in the future. It can also be used in further projects

Actual society is rapidly changing and we are creating a framework where people is expected tomove more frequently from their birthplaces to different locations. To succeed in this new situation itis important to know how to communicate with each other in a multicultural context, with differentlanguages, religions, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. And the first step in this direction isto know what defines the identity of people, at individual and community level; what defines our ownidentity. We need to take action and to be aware of the importance of Nature and Cultural heritage. In thisproject we intend to valorize all those natural and cultural, material and non material resources atlocal level that, not being milestones of civilization, also help us to explain who we are, our historyand our idiosyncrasy. Our objectives are:- To raise interest on natural and cultural heritage, particularly in Europe.- To highlight the importance of environment as an essential element in our lives.- To put into practice new methodological tools based on outdoor activities on local natural andcultural resources with a holistic and multidisciplinary approach.- To promote creativity and entrepreneurship towards the promotion and valuation of environmentand material and immaterial cultural heritage. The project partners are five schools from Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Romania and Spain, all of themsecondary school, two general education schools and three vocational training ones. All of them withexperience working on transnational projects and with an interesting heritage in their locations. Theproject is addressed to students 15 to 19 years old.The project activities are planned to investigate about the local natural and cultural heritage, theirinfluence on people’s identity and their potential as a tool to communicate and to work together aswell as to promote the development of the local areas where they are located, at both social andeconomic level. The working scheme is to learn and investigate about the local heritage resourcesand share that knowledge in transnational meetings; to learn about the entrepreneurial project linkedto those heritage resources and to raise appreciation and consideration towards it with thedevelopment of promotional material at local and transnational level. Approximately more than 120mobility (mainly student mobility) is planned for 2 years. It is widely agreed that the prosperity of ourworld’s future is closely connected to well-educated children. In our project we will make it clear thateach student’s voice is heard, because in a milieu of cultural diversity different views act as a catalystfor progress at each level of social life. Student exchanges and other activities in the project will alsoenhance an understanding toward diverse perspectives on European citizenship and help ourstudents to develop an appreciation of the European cultural diversity and an empathy for differentcultures. In the first short-term staff training meeting, in Spain, teachers will learn about the basic ICT toolsand skills needed to successfully deal with the task in the project. The next three short-term
