1st National Shitokai Karate Championship

In the 1st National Shitokai KarateChampionship 2019, Himanshi, Sanchitand Samar Rao secured the 1st Positionalong with a shining Gold Medal, whereas,Ananya Vats bagged the 2nd Position witha Silver Medal. Manya, Tanish, Anas andRonit bagged the 3rd Position with aBronze Medal.

3D Table Organizer Competition -Amity International School

Cricket Tournament - Shaheed Azad Dalal Cricket ground

Kartikey Lohani (IX B), Rishit Thakur (VIII D), Atharva Kumar (VIII A), Shubh Gupta(VIII B) and Sachin Yadav (XI B) bagged the 3rd Position. The Team was announced as the2nd Runner up in the Cricket Tournament held from 23rd to 27th December, 2019.

In the Table Tennis Tournament held on29th December 2019, Avishi Manglik (V E)secured the 2nd Position, whereas, RashiGarg (VI F) and Lavanya Pathania (VI G)secured the 3rd Position and broughtplaudits to our school. Around 15 schoolsparticipated in this tournament.

Mridu Verma of Class IX Band Radhika Garg of Class IX Bbagged the 1st Position in the 'ReliefWall Mural Painting Competition'held at the Amity InternationalSchool. The judges were impressedby their knowledge about thePichwai art and the quality of theirartistic composition.

The U-15 boys footballteam including Naman (VIB), Hardik Yadav (VI E),Jyotirmay (VII C), Vansh(VII D), B T Sri. Charan (VIID), Jahnav (VII D), AmitYadav (VIII A), NamanAswal (VIII B) and Swetab(VIII D) proud laurels tothe school by securing the3rd Position.

In Gymnastics, our team includingSabhya Khanna (III B), VikeshKhatri (III B), Vaibhav (III H),Nimish Kaul (IV C) and KaranRaghav (IV F) made theschool proud by securing the 3rd

Position. In addition, KaranRaghav also bagged the individual2nd Position.

……Social OutreachREAD is a non-governmental organisation based inUSA that helps underprivileged students andwomen. Students of our school interacted withthe children at the venue and learnt about theirlifestyle. The Maurya School donated 300 books tothe center's library. This library is open to all wherestudents can enhance their knowledgeby reading different books. It was an enrichingexperience and the students realised the need tovolunteer in such NGOs as often as possible.

…Astronomy WorkshopsA set of Astronomy Space Workshops were conducted in The Maurya School. Through theseworkshops, students of Classes I - VIII learnt about the features of celestial bodies. Theysolved jigsaw puzzles and coloured the casts using spray paints. Thus, with the help of thesefun-filled activities, they enriched their knowledge of planets and solar system. They learntabout the power and magic of air pressure through hands-on activities. They also constructedtheir own stomp rockets on the concept of air pressure and launched them in a friendlycompetition.

They also learnt about different solar features along with the ways to observe the Sun safelyand realized the importance of using safe methods for solar observation.

……FarewellA farewell was organized by the students ofClass XI on 31st December, 2019 for the studentsof Class XII. The flashback memories shared bysome seniors made the event memorable.Shrishti Manglik &Tushar Bhati were crownedas Ms. Maurya and Mr. Maurya respectively.The Head of the School, Dr. Shalini Bajaj and theVice Principal, Ms. Garima Manglik along withother faculty members wished all the studentsluck for their future endeavours.

…Celebrations

Republic Day was celebrated withenthusiasm by the entire school. The eventcommenced with the flag hoisting ceremonyby the Head of the School, Dr. Shalini Bajaj.The students presented scenes on ‘how thefoundation of the Constitution was laiddown’. They then recited a Patriotic Poem‘Kalam Aaj Unki Jai Bol’. A Nukkad Natakon ‘Moulik Adhikaar’ helped to reinforcethe importance of our rights and dutiestowards the Nation. The ‘Satyamev Jayate’melody filled the air with patriotism.Whereas, the mesmerising danceperformance enthralled the audience. TheHead of the School, Dr. Shalini Bajaj,addressed the students and reinstated theimportance of this day.

……Sports DayA magnificent Sports Day was organized by The Maurya School, Gurugram on 24th November,2019 with a frolicsome atmosphere. The programme commenced with the Head of the SchoolDr. Shalini Bajaj welcoming the esteemed gathering and emphasizing on the importance ofsports. The occasion was graced by the Honourable Chief Guest Mr. Raj Kumar, Mr. SandeepGupta and Ms. Bani Yadav. A disciplined March Past performed by all the four Houses of theschool won the hearts of the audience. This was followed by a flag hoisting ceremony. Amelodious welcome choir laid the ground for other lovely performances. Notable among themwere various kinds of races and drills. One of the highlights of the event was Swachh BharatDance on the theme: Clean India, Green India. The scholars and winners were honoured in theprize distribution ceremony which was followed by the release of the School Magazine, 'Legacy'.The vote of thanks was rendered by the respected Vice Principal Ms. Garima Manglik and thecelebration concluded with the grand finale.

Activity based learning describes a range ofpedagogical approaches to teaching. Its core premisesinclude the requirement that learning should be basedon activities and hands-on experiments. The idea ofactivity based learning is rooted in the common notionthat children are active learners. To make the teachingprocess joyful and long-lasting, a persistent activitybased learning environment is provided to the studentsof all the classes. These activities are memorableexperiences and provide a wonderful opportunity to allthe participants to showcase their talent.
