The World Renewal

Consciousness is believed by all as the springboard andsubstratum of all human actions. Man’s thoughts,understanding, judgements, perceptions, feelings,

ambitions, goals, efforts, etc., are various expressions of hisconsciousness.

More than half of the population of the world believe thatconsciousness is an essential and inherent attribute of thespiritual entity, called ‘soul’. They have the faith that the soul,by its very nature, is an entity different from the inorganic andorganic matter, the body and brain. The world, is, thus, dividedinto two major groups - one of these consists of people, whobelieve in the existence of soul and are called ‘religious people’and the other consists of people, who do not believe in itsexistence and are called ‘non-religious’ people. The religiouspeople are further divided and subdivided into various sectsand cults, depending upon what other various details theybelieve in about the soul and the Supreme Soul.

True knowledge of soul, however, is not a matter ofsuperficial importance nor is it to be left to some philosophersor religious scholars to discuss. Since each and every one ofus is a conscient being, it concerns us all individually. To denyourselves the true knowledge of consciousness is to denyourselves the right and duty of living a meaningful life.

True knowledge of ‘Consciousness’ should also include theknowledge of what Freud, the well-known Germanpsychologist, called ‘the Unconscious’. Freud did not believein the existence of soul as an entity different from the bodyand brain. He considered ‘the Unconscious’ as comprisingmainly of the repressed desires, which manifest themselves indreams and find expression in the form of neurotic habits andphobias. He called it Id and said that man’s desires werecensored by his Super-ego and those desires, which wereconsidered as not conforming to social norms or to acceptedethical standards, were repressed. GOD AS OURSUPREME TEACHER

September 5th iscelebrated as Teachers’Day every year in India,

in honour of former IndianPresident Shri Dr. SarvepalliRadhakrishnanji’s birthday. Dr.Radhakrishnan was a greatscholar, great teacher and greatphilosopher. His books onIndian philosophy, and theinterpretation of religious textslike complete works of SwamiVivekananda are invaluable,and have been in great demandnot only in India but all over theworld. People derive a lot ofintellectual benefit from thesegreat works of Dr.Radhakrishnan, who went on tobe honoured as the secondPresident of India.

Those were the good olddays when Pandit JawaharlalNehruji, Sardar Patel, Dr.K.M. Munshi and several otherleaders from the rosary ofcourageous Freedom Fighterswere given responsibilities toguide the new-born nation onthe path of freedom, as aRepublic of India. BapuGandhiji, considered the mainspirit behind the freedom

movement, happened to be oneof the most enthralling teacherswho set an example by teachingNon-Violence and Truthfulnessthrough his own practicallifestyle. Many people wonderhow Bharat has survivedseven decades as a freenation, despite there beingso many anomalies inpersonal and public lives.But the reason behind this isthe very powerful foundationcreated by the high-level ofcharacter and value systemin public and personal lives,practiced by our greatleaders of the FreedomStruggle. Each and everyPresident, Vice-President andPrime Minister did their best toalleviate illiteracy and poverty,and dispel ignorance and blind-faith. As we learn from thestatistics presented to us fromthe Government of Indiaarchives, there has beeneconomical improvement of allcategories of people, and thespirit of educating the whole ofIndia is kept very much alive.In present day schools, thelearning of new syllabi and

methodology is advocated onthe lines of famous Universitiesin the West. Further, the percapita income has multiplied inmanifold enabling middle-classcitizens to lead higher standardsof living.

However, the dreams ofpoverty-ridden families in ruralareas all over India are far frombeing realised... TheGovernment of India has comeout with so many schemes forthe empowerment of the poor,women, differently-abled, andseveral categories ofindividuals. Yet, several hurdleshave to be faced along the waybefore these benefittingschemes can reach the poorfolks. The multiplicity of politicalparties creating several cadreshas divided India into factionalgroups that are not seeing eyeto eye with each other; rather,they waste so much time andenergy of the uneducated poorfolk by showing them loftydreams. This has beenwitnessed during the rule ofeach and every political partyover decades.

The bright side is that thereseem to be concerted efforts byour current Prime Minister, andhis Team of worthy Leaders towork for the welfare of themasses. When the PM ShriModiji delivers a speech in any

of the political rallies or socialfunctions, he instils a lot of hopein the minds and hearts of thepeople. Some steps taken bythe present Government havenot been very pleasing orbeneficial for the country to startoff with, for which reason theOpposition Parties continuallycriticize the new systems,especially related toDemonetization. However,there seems to be bettereconomical conditionsaccording to the Government.

The question arises, how andwhen will the common man andwoman reap the benefits of thisimproved economy? Every daythere is depressing news ofhundreds of infants dying inhospitals, floods destroyingvillages while the poor standwitness upon hilltops nearby,waiting for relief fromGovernments… Keeping allthese news aside, it is heart-warming to see that the faith ofthe common person in theSupreme Saviour or Protectorof Humanity is invincible. Wehave celebrated GaneshChaturti with lot of devotion,chanting of mantras, loudmusic and dancing since 25August, and even honoured theimmersion of Shri Ganpatistatues on different days with

beating of drums and unlimitedjoy! Very soon there will bedevotee-fairs for Durga Puja/Navratri which people exult inwith devotional songs anddancing for nine long nights.

The festivals are memorial ofthe very unique and auspiciousAge in the World Drama Cyclewhen the Supreme Teacher,Almighty Authority, invites Hisbeloved spiritual children toawaken and realise the innerbeauty of the Self and theSupreme, and therebyempower ourselves internally.Internal empowerment witheducation in Values and deepMeditation Experiencesenable us to improve ourstandards of living throughhigher consciousness, anddevelop refined behaviourand character. These fourmonths of the monsoon seasonare considered to be the mostprecious time for our spiritualwell-being and learning. Almostall religions speak of the needfor self-purification through suchways and practices, asenunciated by their ReligiousLeaders, Gurus or ReligiousTexts. We, the BrahmaKumaris spiritual family, takebenefit of these four monthsthrough self-introspection anddeeper spiritual learning, by

enhancing our meditationexperiences in silence, and alsoby supporting the needy inevery way possible (especiallyin flood-stricken areas).

According to the teachings ofthe Lord and Supreme Guide,through intense meditationpractices and by exploringdepths of Spiritual Values, weare able to overpower ourinternal weaknesses, andreform our personality traits andbehaviour while interacting insociety, and carrying out ourresponsibilities. Sakar Baba? Very few.January 21, 1969 was a very

significant day because for twodays Baba’s chariot had beenkept in the history Hall; so,everyone could come forperformance of the final rites onthat day. We waited as peoplegathered from all over India.There was no foreign service atthat time. According to Drama,when Sakar Baba was around,he said that all letters connectedwith the foreign lands were tocome to Dadi Janki, who thencame to London for four yearsand the seeds of internationalservice took place then. In thosefour years, the Meditation Hallwas constructed and so I saw itfor the first time in 1978 when Icame back. This is whereAvyakt Bapdada’s meetingswere, then, taking place. Ibrought double foreigners tomeet Bapdada there. Thequestion came up: why had thesesouls taken birth in the foreignlands and the answer was ‘toserve’; but, now they arecoming back to their original

family and home in Madhuban.Baba made me the instrumentto serve the souls in foreignlands. I left India with just asmall suitcase and little moneyas Baba’s instrument for servingthe souls of the world.

Nowhere is there a picture ofthe World Cycle at the back ofthe Hall like the one here! (TheWorld-Cycle picture is nowbeing redesigned). What is timetelling us to do now? I am a souland I remember my AlmightyFather, the Supreme Being.Through the mouth of BrahmaBaba, we all received a newbirth. Before taking us to theGolden Age, Baba will take usto the Soul World up above.Wherever the mind is, the bodyfollows and viceversa. We justneed to connect our mind upabove! Dada. So, even before gettingthis knowledge, there wasalready a connection. Dada’slaukik home had quite abeautiful and pure atmosphere.

It has been 80 years sinceBaba established the Yagya,and what do we mean by that?Baba is the One, who has given

us new life,sustained us sowell and made usservers andinstruments of

service. All that I have toremember is that Baba is onone shoulder and the Fortune ison the other, and I just continueto look at both these. The oldaccounts of the past are nowgone. Whatever accounts youhave with any bodily being, letthem be finished now: freeyourself from all oldattachments and dependencies.Then, you can be happy andBaba’s number one child. Howmany are here for the firsttime? The majority are Baba’sloving and long-term children.I am very happy to meeteveryone. The happiness ofthis meeting is due to truth andspirituality. What vision do wehave for one another? So ofteneach face looks familiar and Irecognise the soul, even whenI forget the name!

Each one has his/her ownvirtue and speciality, but don’thave any arrogance of any ofthat. This is easy Rajyoga andwe can connect with Oneeasily. Let it not wanderanywhere else, so that youalways remain happy andprosperous and all the past isforgotten completely. Don’t getconfused or labour for anything.Baba is so wonderful and hasgiven a guarantee.

Life is a pilgrimage. Alongthis journey, we meet so manybeautiful souls. We have thecooperation of science as wellas of the power of silence. It isthrough silence and with thepower of Rajyoga, we gainvictory. Those, who are fromthe field of science will createthe new inventions of theGolden Age. We should nothave any other concern now;let us just go back to the Sweet

Home and come back to enjoythe kingdom in the Golden Age.

When I met Mamma, shegave me such sustenance. Myspiritual name that was givenby Almighty Baba wasManohar Shanta, but Babaalways continued to call meJanak, because Janak is thetrustee and the bodiless one.We have to have this practiceof being bodiless and trustees!

There was a time when Islept in the room next to Baba’sand I had a bad cough and Babawould come and give mesomething to soothe my throat.Baba would often stop me andremind me of somethingsignificant. When weunderstand who we belong to,it is easy. Yoga gives strength,and action brings fruit; so, wehave to pay attention to yogaand the type of actions weperform.

THE FINAL ENCOUNTERPeople are often unreasonable and self-centred, butforgive them anyway. If you are honest, people may cheatyou; but be honest anyway. What you spend years tobuild, someone may destroy overnight but build anyway.The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;but do good anyway. You see, in the final analysis, thefinal encounter is between you and God; neither was itnor it will be between you and them any way.

No matter what happens, always remember: “Victory is my birthright”.

SPIRITUAL EMPOWERMENTOF THE JUDICIARY –

A NEED OF THE HOUR

BapDada looks at a time the past, present and future stages of His children.

Efficiency and integrity ofthe administration ofjustice depend on the

efficiency and integrity of itsjudges. A judge, who promptlyand effectively sifts the grainfrom the chaff both at the levelof evidence and arguments,considers the samedispassionately and decidesjudicially, is regarded as the bestjudge. Besides, as observed byL.J. Bowin, in Lesson VGeneral Council of MedicalEducation and Registration(1890), 43 Ch. D. 366 (p. 385),“A Judge, like Caesar’s wife,should be above suspicion.”According to Lord Denning, ajudge must never lose histemper. Similarly, according toThomas Jefferson (1743-1826),“Judges should always be menof learning and experience in thelaws, of exemplary morals, greatpatience, calmness andattention.” An upright judgecondemns crimes but does nothate the criminals.

From the point of view ofspirituality, however, judge is thename or nomenclature of a post

held by a human being or thename of a role played by ahuman being, who has qualifiedhimself to be a judge. A humanbeing is made up of two distinctentities, i.e., human + being.‘Human’ signifies physical body

and ‘being’ signifies the eternalenergy, the soul. Human body ismade up of physical andbiological elements. It is inertand mortal in itself. Soul is itslife-giving force. The body isalive so long as the soul residesin it. A soul, on the other hand,is a metaphysical entity, whichreveals itself or acts through theorgans of human body. It is aninfinitesimal point-of-light and islocated in the centre of theforehead between two eye-brows. It has got three faculties,

namely, Mind, Intellect andSanskars or Latencies. Mind isthe faculty, which thinks, feelsand desires. The intellect, whichis the second faculty of the soul,understands, analyses and finallymakes decision. The Sanskars,which constitute the last facultyof a human soul, are theimpressions of one’s long termactions left on the self or soul.They, in turn, go to influence thequality of one’s thoughts, whichoriginate in one’s mind. Everyhuman soul is gifted with seveninnate virtues of wisdom, purity,peace, love, joy, bliss andpowers. These innate virtues ofa human soul are, however,reflected in one’s actions andbehaviours only so long as oneperforms his actions or behavesin a soul-conscious state.

Human beings used to besoul-conscious during theGolden and Silver Ages, whichlasted for first 2500 years of theentire Time Cycle of 5000 years.Then, there was completedivinity and harmony in theirlives. As such, they were knownas deities. They were self-disciplined. There were nodisputes or crimes. Hence, therewas no necessity of anyadministration of justice at all inthese two Ages. But, as a resultof passing through the cycle ofbirth, death and rebirth for 2500years, the spiritual energy ofhuman souls got depleted.

Deities became body-consciousin place of being soul-conscious.The spiritual virtues gave wayto the vices of lust, anger, greed,attachment, ego, etc. based onbody-consciousness. Hence,disharmony, conflicts anddisputes went on growing in thesociety during the Copper andIron Ages. Consequently,administration of justice cameinto existence.

In the present times, at thefag-end of the Iron Age(Kaliyuga), when there is everincreasing back-log of pendingcases and fingers are beingraised at the integrity of thejudges, an ideal judge can onlybe the one, who has not onlyqualified himself to be a judgefrom the worldly point of viewbut also considers himself to bea soul and performs his duties ina soul-conscious state. My ownexperience as a spiritualist forover 30 years, besides being alegal practitioner, shows that asa result of soul-consciousness,the innate virtues of the soul such

as love, peace, purity and powerremain in a highly emerged state,which increases the capacity todiscern, analyse and appreciatefacts and argumentsdispassionately, and therebysharpens decision making.Thoughts, words and actionsbecome automatically elevated.With such an empowerment, ajudge can unfailingly decide allthe matters judicially and in arighteous manner. It will not onlyadd to the quality of justice but

will also expedite the disposal ofcases at a fast speed and therebyinspire and increase faith of thepeople in the judiciary.

My experience further showsthat soul-consciousness state

can easily be re-gained by thestudy of spiritual knowledge andpractice of Rajyoga meditation.Simply stated, Rajyoga meansrealizing the self as a soul andremembering the OneIncorporeal Supreme Soul, GodFather Shiva, through mind andintellect regularly in His trueform and identity, as revealed byHimself through His corporealmedium–Prajapita Brahma. Thespiritual knowledge and Rajyogameditation are presently beingtaught by Him free of costglobally through the worldwidebranches/centres of the BrahmaKumaris Organization. It isavailable to all members of thejudiciary everywhere at macroand micro levels for theirspiritual empowerment. TheSupreme God Father Shiva isexhorting all His spiritualchildren to study and practise thesame and thereby gain deity-sovereignty status in theforthcoming Golden Age, besidesbeing an efficient and ideal judge,now or never!

HONESTY AND CLARITYHonesty does not mean simply speaking your mind. It means to be very clear abouteverything going on inside you. Where there is honesty, feelings become pure andclean. Honesty is where there are no other thoughts or feelings inside, other thanthose that God Himself has in Him. Such clarity is reflected in your words; they will befilled with the power of truth and spoken with ease and without hesitation. The genuinehonesty cultivated within you is what will reach out and touch others.

WHY DO SUFFERINGAND DEATH EXIST?

One may find different speed-breakers on theroad as an

inconvenience or annoyance.However, when viewed from alarger perspective, it is a boonbecause speed-breaker nearplaces like school preventsaccidents that can happen to thelittle ones, who may come on tothe road carelessly.

Similarly, if viewedmechanically, death may appearas a curse; but, if viewed froma larger perspective, deathwould appear to be good. killing his faithful friend to stealhis wife. Sometimes, whenpeople grow extraordinarilygreat in certain aspects/skills,many of them become callousand arrogant. The Mahabharatepic symbolises all suchinconsiderate people through thefamous character of Bhishma.He, too, grew invincible, neverworried about death and woulddo whatever he liked (heentered into a marriageceremony uninvited andkidnapped brides and presentedthem to his relatives and alsofought on the wrong side duringThe Mahabharat war). Yet,while waiting for death on thebed of arrows, he spoke wordsof unmatched wisdom inanswering questions of vitalimportance put to him. In otherwords, in death-awareness, hecould also see all the wastefulthings he thought, said andperformed in his life.

This is because when one’sbody is in reverse growth andmind is in death-awareness, onebegins to feel, “I am not thatimportant as I thought myself tobe….how I wasted my life going

after the acquisitions and therelations, which are alltemporary.” In such a state, onecan see clearly all the wastefulthings one did in his or her life.

In fact, it is rightly said thatDeath is a great leveller; it bringsall luxuries of life to an end. Ithelps to realise the futility ofvanity and that the feelings ofsuperiority in man is only anillusion and self-deception. Thismeans that certainty of deathserves as a speed-breaker onour ego. This is why amaterialistic person may,suddenly, turn religious orphilanthropic when his doctorinforms him that he would soondie because of a dreadeddisease. Interestingly, Jesusrated his cousin John, theBaptist, as the greatest “amongthose born of women” (Luke7:28) because of his simplicityand fearlessness: he movedfrom his forest life to city andrebuked a lustful king, who wasleading an immoral life eventhough he knew well that itwould cost his life. This provesthat awareness of the mortalexistence helps one not to takethe self too seriously (John 3:30),but courageously do what isright. No wonder, in The Bible,the book of Ecclesiastes(Chapter 7) speaks of death ina positive way, because it helpspeople to realize the ephemeralnature of life and not to waste

William Morris wrote: “Deathhave we hated, knowing notwhat it meant.” Steve Jobs (theFather of the Digital Revolution& the co-founder of Apple)declared: “Remembering thatI’ll be dead soon is the mostimportant tool I’ve everencountered, to help me makethe big choices in life. Becausealmost everything – all externalexpectations, all pride, all fear ofembarrassment or failure –these things just fall away in theface of death, leaving only whatis truly important.” Famousnovelist R.A. Salvatore wrote:“Only with the honestknowledge that one day I willdie, I can ever truly begin tolive.” Jonathan Swift, theEnglish satirist said, “It isimpossible that anything sonatural, so necessary, and souniversal as death, should everhave been designed byprovidence as an evil tomankind.” Epictetus, the Greekphilosopher, said, “Let death bedaily before your eyes, and youwill never entertain any abjectthought, nor too eagerly covetanything.” Socrates too hadabsolute clarity on this subject;hence, he described death as“the greatest of all humanblessings” and “the greatestgood that can happen” to usbecause it prevents one’s feeling

of self-importance from growingeternally. Thus, all those greatmen agree that rememberingdeath makes a person act wisely– it guarantees that one’splanning will be realistic.

A keen observer can have thesame conclusion, because it isobserved that when the body isin upward growth, people, ingeneral, tend to grow in desiresand self-importance, and whenthe body is in reverse growthtowards complete collapse and,thus, experience suffering, theybegin to lose the basis forkeeping their desires and self-importance. It repeats in eachbirth a person takes. It can alsobe observed that, in happiness,human beings forget God and,in sorrow, they remember Godand call for His intervention,which He does by recreatingHeaven on earth each timeunrighteousness reaches itspeak. It is like, in rainy season,

we thirst for summer, and, insummer, we thirst for rain. Thus,history becomes a never-ending

cycle of joy and sorrow both inmicro and macro levels. At asmall scale, in our daily life,happiness and sorrow alternate.And, at a large scale, in eachKalpa (cycle of 5000 years) ofthe world cycle, the first half ischaracterized by happiness andthe second half is characterizedby sorrow.

Thus, suffering and deathteach us this great lesson: Tofeel the self-importantce ismeaningless. This is exactlywhat the whole universe iscollectively conveying asfollows:1. In comparison with the

incomprehensibly vast size ofthe universe, our earth is justa tiny dot. Carl Sagan (greatastronomer, cosmologist, andastrophysicist) got it correctwhen he called our earth asa “Pale Blue Dot”, whichdestroys the very basis for“our imagined self-importance” and“underscores ourresponsibility to deal morekindly with one.”

2. The way in which inanimatethings such as planets andstars operate, teaches ushumility. They move aroundkeeping to their orbits just likevehicles follow lane-discipline on a busy ExpressHighway (as thoughsubmitting themselves tosome unseen authority).

IDENTIFY THE FILTERS IN YOUR LIFE

As there are different types of colour filters on a physicallevel; on a spiritual level, there are many different types offilters that work in our lives, e.g., the jealousy filter, hatredfilter, attachment filter, fear filter, greed filter, etc. Due tothese filters, we do not see people and things as they are,but as we are, because the filters are our own self-createdones. If we want to see people and things as they are, weneed to check which filters are working most in our lives.Each one of us has different filters working to differentextents, depending on our personality, e.g., someone mayhave the jealousy filter working more regularly as comparedto the fear filter in his/her life.

Because of these filters, everything that we see is not onlycoloured by the colour of the filter we are using at that time,but our look is also biased as we choose what to see,what to give more importance, what to be affected by more,what to let through the filter, etc. and what not to. We forma deceptive vision of the things and people that surround usinside our minds. And the longer this deformed vision lasts,the more we will convince ourselves that that is the trueimage of the world, because our filters continue to processnew data depending on what they see that make the imagestronger. This reinforcing of the incorrect image builds upour database of incorrect beliefs based on different filtersand makes them stronger and stronger as we go throughthe journey of our life. Beliefs are fixed ways of looking atreality. Thus, the world that we perceive is no longer thereal world, but a world created by our own mind. So, in away, we become deaf and blind on a spiritual level towardsthe world. To heal this deafness and blindness, we do nothave to remove each filter one after the other, which maybecome a difficult task; but we have to discover the pure,original and internal self and start seeing everything withoutthe filters, based on the pure-self point of view. As a resultof this, gradually, our incorrect beliefs start dissolving andcorrect beliefs start setting in based on our clean unfilteredview.

Time of His Descent – theMeeting Point of the End of

the Iron Age and Start ofthe Golden Age

The time after God’s descentshould be better than the timebefore it. Since we have seena continuous decline from theGolden Age to the Iron Age,it is quite evident that God hasnot come or descended duringthis period of time. He comeswhen the world reaches itsclimax towards the end of thehellish Iron Age in order totransform it into the heavenlyGolden Age again. Hence, He

is called the Heavenly GodFatherSince God’s role is totransform the Iron Age, it isclear that He needs to comeat the end of the Iron Age inorder to transform it into theGolden Age.Islam mentions that God willcome at the time ofDestruction (Kayaamat).Christianity mentions that Godwill come on the Day ofJudgement. So, we canunderstand that this time ofsettling of all karmic accountsis evidently happens at theend of Iron Age, since it is alsothe time for a fresh newbeginning of the Golden Age.This short span of time

between the end of the Iron Ageand the start of the Golden Agein which God descends, is calledthe Auspicious Confluence Age(Sangam Yuga), because it isalso the Confluence of souls andthe Supreme Soul.

like recharging a dischargedbattery into a full, completecharged-battery again.The qualities of any creator arealways reflected in hiscreation; whether it is acreation of painting, poetry,play, etc. It is also mentionedthat God creates man in Hisown image. Hence, God re-creates, i.e., transforms humanbeings into divine, pure deities,whose qualities are verysimilar to those of God.Creation of something isalways done anew; it is notsaid to create old things.Hence, God is the Creator ofthe New Golden–Aged World.

(ii) Creating by sharingknowledge

Many feel that God can doanything and everything in asecond. But, this goes againstthe Law of Karma, since it is notpossible to make ordinary humanbeings into deities withoutperformance of any elevatedkarma by them.

At the same time, God’s roleis also absolutely needed, sincewithout Him we cannot rechargeand transform ourselves.

So, the only way possible forour transformation is the descentof God to perform His role as theSupreme Teacher and share withus His divine knowledge andteachings. In this way, both theroles of God and our Karma arejustified.

(iii) Sharing by speakingthrough the lotus mouth ofBrahma

God cannot share Hisknowledge through intuition,since we, the souls, are sodischarged at the end of theIron Age that we are notcapable of receiving Hisknowledge in this way. Andeven if we receive, it won’t beclear to us, thereby leading tomany misinterpretations andconfusions. Hence, He has totake the help of a humanconduit and speak directly tous through him.If God takes birth through thewomb of a mother, then HeHimself will come under thebondages of the cycle of birth,death and rebirth. Hence, Heenters into the body of aphysical human medium,earlier named as DadaLekhraj and renames him asPrajapita Brahma, andimparts His divine knowledgethrough his lotus mouth.It is said that God comesdown in this world incognito.Hence, it is quite clear that Hedoes not come in the form ofa deity or divine being, whowould be easily recognisable,but enters into an ordinarybody secretly.Since He comes at the end ofthe Iron Age, it is evident thatHe needs to enter into an oldiron-aged body.

The term ‘Prajapita Brahma’means that as the alaukikfather of human beings, he isalso entitled as the creator.Hence, he is the corporealmedium through whom Godis carrying out His divine taskof world transformation byusing His divine power ofspiritual knowledge andRajayoga meditation.

revealed by Himself, is based onHis following qualities:

Shiva means point. Shiva means peace. Shiva means Benefactor.This name is not to be

I am a living entity separatefrom the body. I see with my eyes, speak through mymouth, and hear with my ears. I am the master of thisbody and the driver of this vehicle. This state of peaceand light has reminded me of my home, and within secondI reach my home, Paramdham, where I meet mySupreme Spiritual Father.

Like me God, the Supreme Father, is also a point ofdivine light, very bright and residing in the Soul World,the Land of Golden Red Light, where there is peace allaround. Shiva Baba’s light is illuminating the wholeregion, filling it with power of peace and purity. UnderstandingWhat Is Time

We created the concept of time tomeasure our experience of the spacebetween events. Time passes onlybecause we experience change. Whatis change? Change is only a series ofevents. So, time is our experience ofthe speed of events. This explains whytime seems to be moving faster today,because both the speed and thenumber of events are increasing. And itseems even faster if we participate inthose events. If the speed and numberof events were less, we wouldexperience time to be moving slowly,as it used to be a little earlier in thehistory of mankind.Today, sitting in our living rooms andoffices, electronic, print and other mediaallows us to observe hundreds of eventsfrom all over the world, every day. Toobserve them actively is to participatein them. If you want to slow time down,learn to be a detached observer of thethousands of events around you –participate or observe actively onlywhen necessary. If you want to stoptime, meditate and be in your original,timeless, eternal consciousness.Meditation is, after all, an art of shuttingdown the activity of your senses andslowing them down. Today, we fear time,and, as a result, we hear ourselvessaying many a times, “Hurry up, timeis running out! or I hope to have moretime tomorrow! or I need to save time!”Ultimately, time is our life: it cannot besaved or lost, but must be lived now.This is where our will-power is important- we can choose exactly how to spendour time at any moment.

We always believed in the

concept of God, but we did nothave the true introduction of thetrue form of the Supreme andHis relationship with us. Therewas no clarity. As we are thepoints of spiritual light, theSupreme Father is also a self-effulgent light. As we got toknow our true Father, i.e., theAlmighty, this thoughtautomatically elevated ourconsciousness. The thought that‘I am the child of the Supremeand He loves me unconditionallyand this love is eternal,imperishable and that I get thisfortune in every Kalpa Cycle,made us feel so light andblissful. This visionalso entrusts us with theresponsibility of being theWorld Transformers or WorldServers. World servers areGod’s right hands, whoperform their daily actionsrelated to their routine, bymaintaining their relationshipswith family and friends andwork hard for a living andthereby succeed immensely.But, in spite of a busy routine,they give spiritual knowledgeto each and every one, whomthey meet. Serving others inthe same way as God, is myreturn for the love and caregiven to me by the SupremeSoul; besides, it is also my ownpersonal responsibility to theworld.

WHY DO WE HAVE FAULTFINDING TENDENCY?

Almost all the people findfaults with others in anumber of ways. Now-

a-days, fault finding tendency issupposed to be the basic instinctof all human beings, hardly withan exception of one or two. In anegative environment in thepresent society, negative energyoverpowers the positive energy.Now, everyone only expectsfrom others in all the possibleways and no one is ready tosatisfy the expectation of others.Fighting starts since birth as asingle entity against the rest ofthe world. Throughout life whatwe see are problems. Some ofthese problems are very practicaldue to deficiencies of matter,materials or due to crisis insupport or relationship. But, inmany cases, the problems areartificially created in mind to getmore and more in many aspectsor through some self-createdfallacies in multiple ways, whichgive only pains. The presentworld is full of negativities andcut-throat competitions.

Contentment has gone far awayfrom the human mind;sometimes satisfaction comes inthrough some known orunknown ways, but the verynext moment, it vanishes due toits volatile nature and,consequently, the shadow ofworry spreads. Withoutcontentment, man cannot behappy and, in the absence ofhappiness, peace will never befelt. Peace and happiness arelike twins; one cannot staywithout the other.

Due to higher entropic causes,now wasteful energy prevails allaround; hence, we cannottolerate others how good theymay be. The present world iscalled the Kaliyuga, which isknown to all, but unknown arethe facts about some questionslike: Why is it Kaliyuga? Whoare responsible for it? No oneconfesses his/her own faults,though all want to get relief fromthe agony and ask for remedies.Lacking in knowledge of thetrue facts, no one is checking

himself/herself; hence, he/she isnot getting rid of his/her ownfaults. The burden ofresponsibility is always shiftedto others. As a result, thecumulative sins pervade in us alland thereby the total humanenvironment is deterioratedevery day, thereby damaging thesociety. Still then, we livebecause we have no other optionbesides living. But, at the sametime, we are not able to adoptthe right way of living. We haveno sense of it due to ourdogmatic approach and falsebeliefs of living. We knownothing instead of having somany external achievements aswe do not know our true identity;it is better to say that we haveforgotten our true identity. Wealso think that the mantra of‘knowing thyself’ is just a wasteof time and, unknowingly inevery moment, we aredestroying our own world,including our social and naturalenvironments. Only a fewpersons know the truth toreverse the present chaoticsituation but it is possible foreveryone, who desires to do so.

It is not others’ responsibilityto make us aware of the truefacts of life. It is the duty ofevery individual to know themeaning and purpose of life.Should we blame others for notknowing the true facts of life?

Nonecan free himself/herself from his/her negative karmic burdenwithout suffering, which isdetermined by the law of karmain different births. But, the bigquestions are: How to know allthese facts in the present phaseof life? and how to start self-progression from there?

Inner development startsfrom inside the mind by meansof creating good thoughts with

regard to the activities in everymoment of life. Whatever maybe the vices in one’s life, theycan be reduced only inremembrance of God.Apparently, it seems to be verydifficult, but the matter is notso. Only the direction of themind needs to be changed forchanging the thought patternwith a view to re-orient thewhole process of thought-feeling-emotion-action-resultand, then, automatically theattitude and personality of aperson will be changed. Fromthat junction of time, the personwill start creating his/herdestiny to the best of his/herown desire. At that stage, he/she will not find any fault withothers, rather he/she will try tohelp rectify the guilty personsalso in all possible ways. Thepresent society is, now, fully

wrapped in the clothing ofwastes and negativities, and noone is capable of lookingbeyond that grey cover. Veryfew try to get rid of it and tomake their journey freely in theinner sky with the help of sereneand divine state of mind.Human beings can do anythingthey like because they havethat power inside. But, if I couldsomehow realize the truth oflife; then, why should I choosethe wrong way by taking thewrong decision? It is ineveryone’s own hand to changethe direction of life. I may takehelp from others and can enrichmyself, if I desire so. Somepersons are always there tohelp me if I notice so;otherwise, I will be busy onlyin blaming others withoutknowing that the responsibilityof my life is mine only.

In this title “Mind Your Mind”,there are two ‘minds’; thefirst one is the verb and the

second one is the noun. Thehuman soul has three facultiessuch as mind, intellect andsanskar. Mind is the thinkingfaculty, intellect is the judging ordecision making faculty, andsanskar is the recording facultyof what we, the souls, think,speak and act. The noun ‘mind’is the creator of thoughts. Theverb ‘mind’ here means to knowand check the nature and qualityof thoughts; if bad and negativethoughts arise we have to checkand change them into good andpositive thoughts. People say,“Mind your business”. But, thetopic here refers to ‘mind yourmind’, and we have to discusshow to mind our own mind andalso to know and reap thebenefits of doing this.Mind – The Prime Faculty

There are three faculties of thehuman soul: (i) Mind is thethinking faculty. All sorts ofthoughts, feelings and emotionsarise in the mind. (ii) Intellect isthe judging or decision makingfaculty. It is the rational elementin the soul that considers,

analyzes, organizes facts,information, events, people, etc,and finally judges and takes ad e c i s i o n . ( i i i ) S a n s k a r(impression) is the recordingfaculty of what we, the souls,think, speak and act in ourpersonal, social and professionallife and behaviour. It is referredto as the sub-conscious, whichmost often motivates andinfluences our actions.

Mind Proves One’sExistence

Rene Descartes, the FrenchPhilosopher, said, “Cogito ErgoSum”, which means “I think,therefore I am.” In other words,I exist because I think. Unless Ithink, I cannot exist. Thus, itproves the existence of allhuman beings, who are thinkingand rational beings. Humanbeings are different fromanimals, who act on the basis oftheir instincts only. Our thinkingproves our existence upon theearth when we, the souls, comeand take the bodies to play ourroles/parts on the stage of theworld.

Individual Mind andUniversal Supermind

There is a difference between

individual human mind and God’sUniversal Supermind. Everyindividual soul has a mind of itsown. The individual human mindis subject to time and spacecontinuum, and reaps the fruitsof one’s own thoughts, wordsand actions in the form ofsorrows and sufferings andpeace and happiness, dependingon the nature and quality ofthoughts, words and actionswhile coming in interactions withother souls as actors on thisearthly stage according to thecosmic scheme of the EternalWorld Drama (EWD). In thephysical world of time andspace, the individual humanmind becomes and remainsbody-conscious and therebybecomes vicious, being indulgedin vices like sex-lust, anger,greed, attachment, ego,indolence and jealousy.

The thirdlaw of motion of Sir IssacNewton states, “Every actionhas equal and oppositereaction.” Good and positiveactions flow from good andpositive thoughts; whereas bador negative actions flow frombad or negative thoughts.

Mind is the Creator ofboth Hell & Heaven

John Milton, the blind Englishpoet, has rightly said, “Mind isin its own place; it can make ahell of heaven and heaven ofhell.” Start thinking of heaven,you will get the feeling andexperience of heaven; incontrast, start thinking of hell,you will get the feeling andexperience of hell.

William Shakespeare, theworld famous English poet anddramatist, has also rightlystated, “There is nothing goodor bad; thinking makes it so.”Think good and be good. Ourthoughts create ourenvironment; our thoughtstransmit the similar vibrations toothers. Our thoughts can make

The Shreemad BhagvadaGeeta on Mind and itsControl & Purification

The Mind is Fickle:The Bhagavad Geeta puts a

great emphasis on the control ofthe mind. The mind is likened tothe sixth sense, and describedas fickle and unstable innature. As an aspect of thephenomenal Nature, the humanmind personifies the phenomenalworld, its impermanence andinstability.In The Geeta (Chapter VI,Verse 34), Arjuna compares themind to wind and says:

“O Krishna, the mind is,indeed, very fickle, turbulent,strong and obstinate. I thinkit is as impossible to controlthe mind as to control thewind.”And, in the next verse,Shreekrishna concurs:

“Undoubtedly, O MightyArmed, it is very difficult tocontrol the ever moving mind.However, O son of Kunti,through sincere practice(“Abhyasayen Kaunteya”)and dispassionatedetachment (Vairagya),control of mind can beachieved.”

The Mind Needs to beStabilized:

According to The BhagavadGeeta, self-realization is notpossible without achievingstability of the mind or the stablestate of mental wisdom(“Sthithaprajna”). Stability ofmind means to remain in thesame state of inner soul-consciousness beingundisturbed and unstable inall circumstances and underall conditions. The followingverses (The Geeta: Chapter II:54-55) give us an idea of whatstability of mind is:

“When a person gives upall the desires in his thoughtfulstate and when his inner selfis satisfied within itself, atthat time he is said to be amaster in the stability of mind(‘Sthithaprajna’).

“Undisturbed amidst threefold miseries, immobile inhappiness, free fromattraction, fear and anger, iscalled the stage of stablemind.”Senses Make the MindRestless:

The restlessness of the mindis caused by the activity of thesenses, which bind the mind tothe sense objects throughdesires. So, the mind cannot bestabilized unless the senses arecontrolled and it is detachedfrom the sense-objects throughthe cultivation of detachment

Concentrating the Mind onGod is the Solution:

In the following verses (TheGeeta: Chapter XI: 7-8) ShreeKrishna gives the followingassurance to Arjun:

“I rescue them, O Partha,whose minds are set upon Mebeing detached from the oceanof mortal world (Samsara).”

“Upon Me fix your mind, inMe operate your intelligenceand, thereafter, without doubtyou shall live in Me only.”

Man is, normally,not aware of them or theirsources even though hispersonality and his behaviour, atall times, are influenced by theSanskars. His Sanskars do notleave him even in his dreamsor his spiritual efforts. In fact,these are so intimately relatedwith man’s peace and war orgood and bad personality that itwould be meaningless to talk ofworld peace or a social, political

or cultural change without talkingof or planning and working for achange in the Sanskars. One,however, finds that there is notadequate attention paid to bringabout a qualitative change inman’s Sanskars or hisUnconscious. On the other hand,one finds a rapid degradationtaking place in this area ofhuman consciousness. Thehuman race cannot make anupward thrust without affectingan improvement in this realm.

A research in, or an in-depthstudy of Sanskars and themethods of change will providemankind with the essential toolsfor improving relationshipsamong the human beings andfor making this world a betterplace to live in. Without the

knowledge of ‘theUnconscious’, all the inventionsof Science and Technology willnot make the world peacefuleven though they may make itcomfortable. All thescholarship, erudition, religiousrituals and mantras will also nothelp to bring peace andhappiness unless and until thereis a change for the better inone’s Sanskars.

For this, one will have torevise, improve and add newmaterials to Freud’s concept of‘the Unconscious’ and therebyeducate people to liberatethemselves from unsocial andunethical habits, whims, fancies,obsessions and phobias and,thus, bring self-change in orderto be happy and peaceful.
