BACKGROUND

This year marks the third edition of the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues (NPL) Finals Series. The PlayStation 4 NPL Finals Series is a national knockout competition for the first placed clubs of Australia’s eight NPL competitions. The Premiers within each Member Federation NPL division progress to the PlayStation 4 NPL Finals Series. Five Member Federations competed in the inaugural NPL Finals Series in 2013, with Sydney United 58 FC defeating South Hobart in the Grand Final to be crowned the first National Premier Leagues Champions of Australia. The following year the competition expanded to eight entrants, which also saw PlayStation 4 officially unveiled as the naming rights partner of not only the Final Series but each respective National Premier Leagues competition run by each of the eight Member Federations around the country.

FORMAT

The PlayStation 4 NPL 2015 Finals Series will take place over a three week period consisting of four Elimination Finals and two Semi Finals before culminating in the Grand Final. Every match in the PlayStation 4 NPL 2015 Finals Series is sudden-death, with extra time and penalties to be held if required. The makeup and grouping of the Elimination Finals has been based on geographic location. As such, the Member Federations coupled together are Northern NSW Football and Football Queensland, Capital Football and Football NSW, Football Federation Tasmania (FFT) and Football Federation Victoria (FFV), and Football West with Football Federation South Australia (FFSA). Each year, the host Member Federation within the Elimination Finals shall alternate to provide all Federations with the opportunity to host every second year. In order to determine the host Federation for the Semi Finals and Grand Final, the following points system will apply at the conclusion of each stage of the Finals Series: Win within regulation time = 3 points Win during extra time = 2 points Win in penalty shootout = 1 point Goals scored (excluding penalty shootouts) = 3 points Goals conceded (excluding penalty shootouts) = -1 point Yellow cards = -1 point Red cards = -3 points

Moreton Bay United FC Established: 2012 Website: www.moretonbayunited.com Twitter: @MoretonBayUtd Home venue: Wolter Park (Jacaranda Drive, Albany Creek) Media Contacts: Nick Crockford E | [email protected] Club Personnel: Salvatore Sottile (Technical Director) Head Coach: Adam Piddick Current squad members with Hyundai A-League experience: Royce Brownlie (Brisbane Roar) Key players 17. Jackson Hall Recruited from Brisbane Strikers in the off-season. A dynamic pocket rocket who plays in behind the striker. Offers plenty of cutting runs that will either tee him up for a goal scoring opportunity or serve as a decoy to create space for his team mates. 11. Charles Mendy A dynamic, lanky Frenchman who is generally involved in all of Moreton Bay’s attacking forays. Has scored 31 goals in 46 games so leave him unmarked at your peril. 1. Luke Borean The Jets’ goalkeeper is an unsung hero of the team. Is good for at least one match defining save per game. Has sharp reflexes and is confident in traffic to catch balls from crosses. Has recorded five clean sheets this year. 4. Alex Henderson A young defender making his mark with the Jets. Is a threat from set-pieces with his head, has a big engine, a big frame, and is now readying himself to see if he’s a big game player. Squad

History (taken from the club’s official website) Moreton Bay United Football Club (The Jets) was established in 2012 in conjunction with the FFA and Football Queensland announcement of the newly formed National Premier Leagues which was to replace the Junior Premier League and Queensland State League. Formed with a vision of establishing a football club representative of the region, the board created an associate ownership model which offers clubs and community groups either financial or non-financial association. Albany Creek Football Club (ACE), being a licensed holder of the Junior Premier League from 2009 to 2012, was a founding Associate Club and in this capacity was instrumental in the start up of the club. MBU FC entered the National Premier Leagues Queensland competition in 2012 and played its first official game in the NPL against Palm Beach Sharks on 10 March 2013 at Wolter Park. The license issued by Football Queensland to MBU FC is for five years. MBU FC has a philosophy of player development where winning becomes a by-product. Successful football players must be technically elite. Winning trophies and grand finals is not the priority of player development. All players and members of MBU FC must understand and accept this philosophy to be accepted. Honours PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Premiers 2015 PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Champions 2015 Season Record (excluding finals) Played 22; 14 wins, 5 draws, 3 losses, 54 goals for, 25 goals against, 29 goal difference, 47 points Key results Round 3 – defeated Sunshine Coast FC 7-0 Made the league stand up and take notice early in the season. Instilled a belief amongst the squad in coach Adam Piddick’s game plan. Round 10 – defeated Palm Beach SC 4-1 Recorded a big come from behind win over the defending premiers. Round 6 (1-1) and Round 17 (2-2) against Brisbane Strikers Battled hard on both occasions for a point against their biggest premiership rival. Had they lost either of these matches, chances are they would not be featuring in the PlayStation 4 NPL Finals series.

Edgeworth FC Established: 1892 Website: - Twitter: @EdgeworthFC Home venue: Jack McLaughlan Oval (Park St, Edgeworth) Media Contact: Warren Mills E | [email protected] M | 0417 419 402 Club Personnel: Jeff Phillips (President), Sash Adanovski (Vice President)

Head Coach: Damian Zane Current squad members with Hyundai A-League experience: - Key players 11. Dylan Holz Hailed by coach Damien Zane as the side’s best player in the last third of the competition and the finals, the youngster is fast and dangerous in the front third. Has only scored 4 goals this year, however is involved in most of the Eagles’ goals whether through assists or build up play. A cracking individual goal against Broadmeadow where he turned and volleyed into the bottom right hand corner indicated he can perform in the big games. 8. Josh Evans Evans is Edgeworth’s rock at the back. Has been played a huge part in Edgeworth’s 2015 success, in both the league and the Westfield FFA Cup. Can also play a part in the front third as he is extremely dangerous in the air, and has two goals to his name in 2015, both from set pieces. 6. Luke Walker The captain who leads by example. Missed the first half of the season with a knee injury he sustained in a trial match. Two weeks after his return to the pitch the team moved to first place and stayed there for the final seven rounds, which is no coincidence. Damien Zane has hailed his leadership skills and suggested he is a huge benefit for the younger guys in the squad. Was the recipient of the Dave Williams Medal which is awarded to the Player of the Match in the PS4 NPL Northern NSW Grand Final. Squad

History The club was originally called Young Wallsend until around 50 years ago. The first glory days for the club came in 1978 and they have had a number of English imports including Jimmy McBreen (father of former Central Coast Mariners forward Daniel McBreen). After dropping to the second division in the early 1980s due to some financial difficulties, the club gained promotion back in 1989 and has been in the top division ever since. Honours NPL Premiers 1978, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2007, 2009, 2015 NPL Champions 1978, 2003, 2010, 2015 Season Record (excluding finals) Played 18; 13 wins, 1 draws, 4 losses, 39 goals for, 22 goals against, 17 goal difference, 40 points Key results Round 12 – defeated Hamilton Olympic 3-1 Ayden Brice and Brody Taylor scored in the first half before Hamilton Olympic hit back straight after the break to make it 2-1. With 15 to go Brice headed in his second of the game inflict Hamilton’s first loss of the season. In the process Edgeworth leap frogged their opponents into first on the table, a position they would not surrender for the remainder of the season. Round 18 – defeated Weston Workers 3-1 The Eagles began the final round in first spot, however Lambton’s win a day earlier had temporarily sent them to the top of the pile meaning Edgeworth needed victory to finish as Premiers. They went ahead through an own goal but just before half time Weston struck at into the right net to make it 1-1 at half time. But from then on it was all Edgeworth, goals to Dylan Holz and Bren Hammel sealing the Premiership.

Blacktown City FC Established: 1953 Website: www.bcfc.com.au Twitter: @BlacktownCityFC Home venue: Lily's Football Centre (Quinn Avenue, Seven Hills NSW) Media Contact: Giulio Martone (Director) E | [email protected] M | 0417 671 563 Club Personnel: Brett Seager (President), Vince Camera (Director), Linda Foxe (Director), Chris Gafa (Director), Giancarlo Maisano (Football Manager)

Head Coach: Mark Crittenden Current squad members with Hyundai A-League experience: Travis Major (Central Coast Mariners), Yianni Perkatis (Western Sydney Wanderers), Jo Gibbs (Sydney FC, Western Sydney Wanderers, Newcastle Jets), Mitchell Mallia (Central Coast Mariners, Sydney FC), Matthew Lewis (Central Coast Mariners), Zachary Cairncross (Sydney FC, Central Coast Mariners) Key players 19. Zach Cairncross Returned from his latest stint in the Hyundai A-League as one of the best central defenders in the NSW NPL. His calmness in all defensive situations combined with his ability to play the short or long pass makes him a standout in the competition, and at an imposing 6 foot 4 inches, his aerial presence makes him the complete package. But unfortunately he will miss the cut throat encounter against Canberra FC after being red carded in last weekend’s PlayStation 4 NPL NSW Men’s 1 Grand Final. 9. Joseph Gibbs Joey was a central figure in the balance of the side and contributed an outstanding 16 League goals in 17 games. A constant threat in the box, his work rate and understanding of how to create space place him in an elite group of strikers. His defensive efforts are often underestimated by the casual observer, but not by his team mates, who all acknowledge that he gives Blacktown the ability to defend from the front. 8. Sasa Macura Sasa combines the rare attributes of shouldering an enormous workload in the middle of the park with some sublime touches in attack. His five goals from defensive midfield unlocked some very tight matches, and his ability to get the Blacktown attack rolling was instrumental in the rhythm of the side. Never one to shirk the tough work, Sasa also screened the back 4 superbly. Squad

History In the late 1960s and early 1970s Toongabbie club rose through the lower divisions of the NSW leagues by winning six successive championships. By 1977 Toongabbie had advanced to the NSW top division. When Blacktown became a city in 1979 the club changed its name to Blacktown City, and the following year the club took part in the NSL for the first time. In its first national league match, a 4-2 win over St George, Blacktown had in its line-up English legend Bobby Charlton. In three NSL stints (1980-1981, 1984-1986 and 1989-1989/90) Blacktown’s best season was 1984 with a fifth placing. After returning to the NSW state leag ues in 1990 the club has been one of the strongest in the state-based competition. In a real "top of the table clash" Blacktown were able to take their game to a new level with some outstanding attacking football. Round 12 – defeated Sydney United 58 FC 6-1 A tough road trip to Sydney United in Round 12 kicked off the second half of the year, and it turned out to be a real show of attacking intent. Goals from right across the park gave the squad confidence they could perform well away from home. Round 21 – defeated Blacktown Spartans 4-0 The away leg of the Blacktown Derby gave the side a chance to all but wrap up the Premiership in Round 21. After a difficult loss to Sydney Olympic the week before, Blacktown City side put in a resounding display of attacking football against a motivated Spartans outfit. The result kick started a run that saw them score 16 goals in the next four matches.

History (taken from the club’s official website) Croatia Soccer Club entered the ACT Soccer Federation Second Division in 1959 and was promoted to the first division the following year. The end of 1960 saw ACT teams directed by the Executive to change national names to neutral names. Soccer Club HOPE was registered and accepted by the ACT Soccer Executive, but great thought had been put into the name by the passionate Croatian community and in order to keep ties with their heritage, the name was an acronym for the Croatian Liberation movement. It did not take Croatia (HOPE) long to become a force in the ACT competition and in 1962 the club won its first Premiership together with the Top Four competition, the Federation Cup and the Robertson Cup. In 1966 the club celebrated the return of its name to Croatia (Deakin) by recording our third premiership in five years.

On November 11 1969 the Croatia Deakin Soccer Club premises were officially opened – the first of its kind in Canberra, a day that will long be remembered as a one of the most important days the club’s history. The Cup kings tag returned to Deakin in 1985 by winning both the Jim Fraser Memorial Shield and the Federation Cup. 1986 saw the beginning of an unprecedented three premierships in a row. All the more remarkable was that Croatia was undefeated in the premiership in those three years, something that to this date has not been repeated. 1988 saw a historic end to an era by winning not only the premiership, but also adding the Ampol Cup Top Four and the ACT Illawarra Challenge. It was an end of an era, as Deakin would compete in the NSW State League as Canberra Croatia after taking over the Canberra City Griffins. Melbourne born, Adams was a youth player at English club Derby County and also had a brief stint with Wellington Phoenix. 7. However, after being kept quiet for much of the day, Milos Lujic bobbed up to make the most of an exquisite through ball from Leigh Minopoulos to snatch all three points. Round 25 – defeated Avondale Heights 7-0 Another significant result came in the penultimate round when South Melbourne ventured away and put seven goals past Avondale Heights substantially boosting their goal difference and putting them in the box seat. Round 26 – defeated Northcote City 3-0 This meant it all came down to the final round and with destiny in their own hands knowing a win would be enough, a brace from Milos Lujic helped South Melbourne secure a clinical 3-0 home win against Northcote City to secure top spot.

Reads the play like a book, is strong in a challenge and a sound and smart distributor from defence. 10. Gavin Hoy The Canadian is an attacking midfielder/winger with a good burst of pace. He is a strong finisher, good at navigating traffic and has outstanding vision and passing ability. 1. However, it’s his distribution that is the real asset, rarely misses targets out from the back. 5. Luke Eyles The winger/full back has already signed for South Melbourne for 2016-2017. Burst onto the Tasmanian NPL scene in 2015 with an outstanding first season at Olympia, collecting the league's Rising Star Award. History Hobart Olympia F.C. Warriors is one of four football (soccer) clubs that represents Hobart in the Tasmanian Southern Premier League. The club also fields teams in all junior divisions, as well as women's teams. Olympia F.C. Warriors play their home games at Warrior Park, in Warrane, Tasmania. Olympia was formed in 1957 as "The Grecians", and for the most part of their history has been predominantly represented by players of ethnic Greek background. The club headquarters are located at the Hobart Hellenic Club. In 1958 they changed their name to "Olympia" a name which they kept unchanged until 1997, when ethnic affiliations were removed from Australian football. Unwilling to completely depart from their Greek association, the club simply changed 'Olympia' to 'Olympic'. In October 2009 after a revamped new Board, newly elected President George Mamacas started making immediate changes to the ailing club. They reverted to their former ethnically-affiliated name 'Olympia', and added the epithet 'Warriors', as well as adopting a new logo featuring a Spartan warrior's helmet also replacing the 50 year old shield with a map of the island State of Tasmania to further celebrate the Greek Australian heritage. This decision was made ahead of the club's fiftieth anniversary celebrations, and taken with the full blessing of Football Federation Tasmania.[1] Honours NPL Victory League Champions 1964,1965,1966,1967,1968,1987,1996,2015 NPL Victory League Championship Runners-up 1963 Victory Cup Winners 2015 Southern Premierships 1963,1965,1966,1967,1968,1987,1988 Southern Premier Runners-up 1964,1969 KO Cup Winners 1957,1964,1968,1972,1988,1995,2013 KO Cup Runners-up 1963,1965,1975 Summer Cup Winners 1975,1998,1999,2005,2013,2014,2015 Summer Cup Runners-up 1983,1987 Cadbury Trophy Winners 1986 Cadbury Trophy Runners-up 1987,1988,1990,1991 Falkinder and Association Cup Winners 1963,1966,1967 Falkinder and Association Cup Runners-up 1965 Association Cup 1961,1965,1966,1967 Lloyd Triestino Cup Winners 1975 Season Record (excluding finals) Played 21; 15 wins, 3 draws, 3 losses, 83 goals for, 14 goals against, 69 goal difference, 48 points Key results Round 3 – defeated South Hobart 3-1 The season had twists and turns with one of the most significant results coming on Good Friday against fellow contenders South Hobart. Round 9 – defeated Hobart Zebras 1-0 Another crucial result against one of the clubs pushing for the title. Round 12 – defeated Glenorchy Knights 14-0 Set a league record for biggest win and most goals from one team in a match as they ran rampant at Warrior Park. They followed this up with an impressive 9-0 drubbing of Launceston City the next weekend. Round 21 – defeated Devonport 4-0 Sealed their spot at the top of the league on the final day of the competition as they finished two points clear of reigning champions South Hobart. Ultimately, they only lost three games all season so in reality it was beating the teams they should beat that won them the title.

History The principal founder of the club in 1962, under the name of Hellas, was Mr A. Hatzi-Stathi, who along with others created the club after the demise of the Olympic club which had been banned by the S.A.F.S.A following crowd disturbances. The club was a major force in South Australian soccer in the 1960’s & 70’s prior to joining the National Soccer League. Hellas played its home games at Hindmarsh Stadium prior to and during their National League campaign. The venue was the scene of many local derby’s and outstanding games. The club entered the NSL in the inaugural year 1977 with cautious optimism having won the local championship in South Australia in 1976. In 1978 it was probably the club’s greatest achievement when they became National Champions of Australia in only their second year of participation in the National League. History (taken from Bayswater City website) One of the strongest clubs in WA club football, Bayswater City Soccer Club was formed in 1980, as a result of a merger between Lathlain Meazza (formed 1973) and Rosemount Juventus (formed 1978) becoming Rosemount Meazza. In 1981 Rosemount Meazza merged with Bayswater United (formed 1962), to become Bayswater Inter. In 1995 Baywater Inter changed their name to Bayswater City, and merged with Stirling Panthers to become the Bayswater City Panthers. This merger lasted until 2003 when the name Bayswater City returned. That hope lasted all of a week as Perth SC were handed defeat on their own patch at Dorrien Gardens. David Heagney scored twice and Bor Bor Sam was also on target in a victory that would’ve looked more impressive but for Harley Orr’s late goal for Perth. Round 9 – defeated Floreat Athena 3-1 From Round 3, Floreat had trailed league-leading Bayswater only on goal difference and this clash of the top two was seen as Athena’s chance to climb to the summit. Floreat were a goal up at the break but Bayswater nerves were settled during a 16-minute second-half spell in which David Heagney, Danny Dixon and Todd Howarth were all on target. Bayswater went three points clear at the top and were never troubled again.
