Contents ProcessStages of the production of my

contents.

Page 2: Contents Process

Since I had not looked at a contents page of a KERRANG! magazine much, I decided it was best to analyse one.

That way I could take aspects of the magazine into my contents. The ones that I mentioned were the aspects that I took.

Research

Page 3: Contents Process

KERRANG! Contents is displayed at the top of the page in a black box

Editors notes at the top fill space make it look more full and give information

Different sections listed subheadings, Bands in that section underneath in one bar

Quote of the week adds humour at the top

Plenty of pictures varying in size and organisation

Start of my contents

I decided I would start with the title and the black box at the top, this was done using Photoshop and was added to my contents. I then followed this up by adding little features in the box, the issue number and cover date.

Addition of Contents list.

I built blocks with the text one by one and put them in a line like the KERRANG! Contents. I then gradually started to fill in-between them with the various artists.

Picture

I decided the next thing I should do was to add a picture of Emma to my contents page. I did this and added a box with the page number and a brief description of what the piece is about. I also decided to add a survey for authenticity as I felt this was a good idea as it made it seem more original.

Photo shoot

This a photo shoot I did since I needed photos for my contents. It would appear on the

contents under the band name shelved glory.

Photo shoot 2

Since I needed to fill the contents page with different photos I decided to take some of my friend Andy and his guitar. I implemented these into my contents page straight away. I also took a few photos of Helen since I needed to fill my contents to ensure it looked more professional with mixed photos.

Contents update

Here I added the pictures into my contents using Photoshop, I arranged them in a way I thought was effective and visually pleasing. I then added boxes for the page numbers and names of the artist in a similar style for all the photos.

Final Changes

Here I looked at my contents and added various features within Photoshop to finalise it and make it look more original and professional. Things such as the editors notes in a box and the borders on the photo’s were added to give the final result. I also changed the top bar from Dynamic, to Contents.
