The objective is to provide technical and non-technical support in improving and implementing an effective internal grievance system. Related to that, BWI held an Industry Seminar on Effective Grievance Mechanisms on June 3, 2015. Only 10 selected factories who have established grievance systems were invited, including PT Citra Abadi Sejati. The Cileungsi unit sent three representatives to attend. On June 5, 2015, BWI visited the Cileungsi factory. They reviewed the next work plan with the management regarding improvements to the grievance system. In 2014, Better Work Indonesia (BWI) developed a mobile phone based application to serve BWI participating factories, labor unions and workers with a grievance communication system. The objective is to provide technical and non-technical support in improving and implementing an effective internal grievance system. Related to that, BWI held an Industry Seminar on Effective Grievance Mechanisms on June 3, 2015. Only 10 selected factories who have established grievance systems were invited, including PT Citra Abadi Sejati. The Cileungsi unit sent three representatives to attend.

On June 5, 2015, BWI visited the Cileungsi factory. They reviewed the next work plan with the management regarding improvements to the grievance system. The General Manager of Better Work Indonesia, Mr. Dan Cook, was present at this occasion.

Occupational Safety & Health Meeting The Committee of Occupational Safety and Health or OSH (Panitia Pembina Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja – P2K3 in the Indonesian language) holds a meeting once a month to address OSH related issues. Results of the meeting are reported to the Department of Labor and Transmigration once every three months. Working closely with Better Work Indonesia, various trainings are held to increase the effectiveness of health and safety in the workplace. In May 2015, PT Citra Abadi Sejati joined the Fire Safety Expert and Basics of Chemical Handling and Management trainings. PT Citra Abadi Sejati sent one representative to each of the trainings. The exercise on Fire Safety involved visiting one site, building or location that has been approved by the factory to practice a fire safety assesment.

Periodic Medical Examinations

PT Citra Abadi Sejati holds periodic mass medical check-ups in the Bogor and Cileungsi units. In April 2015, the Bogor unit checked 2400 employees. The Cileungsi unit checked 3200 employees between February and August 2015. The cleaning team and canteen staff also received medical check ups.

Social Security Scholarship

The Social security scheme or Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan in Indonesian language) is a public program that provides benefit protection for the workers. BPJS Ketenagakerjaan offers various program benefits to participants. One of the programs is a scholarship for the children of participants. The scholarships are only granted to companies that maintain a timely track record of paying BPJS dues. For PT Citra Abadi Sejati, a total of 15 employees’ children were granted scholarships. The total sum granted was 3000 USD.

Blood Donations

The quarterly blood donation is a cooperation between the factories and the Indonesian Red Cross of Bogor. A total of 62 employees from the Cileungsi unit of PT Citra Abadi Sejati donated blood in May 2015.

Breaking Fast Together

In June 2015, Muslims around the world fasted for the holy month of Ramadhan. As a tradition, each year PT Citra Abadi Sejati holds a dinner to break the fast together with all management and employees.

A total of 300 employees attended the event held at a local restaurant in Bogor and 314 employees joined the event held at a local restaurant in Cileungsi.

Friendly Match Between PT CAS and BNI

In May 2015, the football team of PT Citra Abadi Sejati held a friendly match with a team of Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI). PT Citra Abadi Sejati has established good business relations for many years with BNI. The friendly football match was won by the PT Citra Abadi Sejati team.

Environmental and Energy Sustainability

Re-Using Plastic Barrels

There are many ways to perform “Go Green” actions in the workplace. The Cikarang unit of PT Citra Abadi Sejati, made use of plastic barrels of 30 kilogram and 120 kilogram volumes and transformed the barrels into plant pots. The pots were placed in the Cikarang factory yard. There are 60 barrels now used for potted plants.

Light Grouping

The Cileungsi unit of PT Citra Abadi Sejati installed 28 individual switches for better light zoning control in the sample room. Previously, the lights were switched on and off across of only a few switches and only a handful of people knew which buttons to use. This light grouping technique is more effective in saving the energy used in factory.

Local Community Care Peer Educator Services

In June 2015, the HER Project Committee of PT Citra Abadi Sejati, Bogor Unit worked together with the Integrated Service Center of Bogor City to share best practices in female health programs. There were 37 Peer Educators who shared knowledge about the integrated health service posts around the factory grounds. Special attention was given to educating mothers about how important attention to the health of their children.

Heesu Foundation Visit

The Heesu Foundation is doing wonderful work in caring for 19 autistic children. Representatives from PT Citra Abadi Sejati visit them as a routine activity every month. In the second quarter of 2015, PT Citra Abadi Sejati made a donation 200 USD. Factory representatives also spent time playing with the children of the Heesu Foundation.

Reconstructing a Community Drainage System

In April 2015, PT Citra Abadi Sejati helped the local community to cover an open drainage system. The location was very close to the Bogor unit of PT Citra Abadi Sejati, approximately 300 meters away. The total amount of materials for the new construction of gutter was approximately 4000 USD. The contributions were submitted by representatives of our factory management. It was completed in June 2015.
