Does the magazine use images?The magazine uses one big Image at the top, with two others overlapping each other and 3 other images at the bottom

How have these images been constructed?These images have been constructed using dark greystudio backgrounds however the top image looks like It Was taken on a street and edited to look grey and one Doesn’t even have a background, it just features the Model.

What colours and fonts are used? Does this support the style of the front cover?The colours used in this magazine are yellow, black and white, with an ‘IMPACT’ font style, which supports the style of the front cover because it keeps with the house colours

How is the information organised so that it is accessible to the audience? What are the different sections? What does this tell you about the magazine?The information is organised by using different sections to separate the different topics and stories so it is easier to locate, e.g. feedback, news, features , news, win, etc. and the page numbers are in chronological order according to its section.

Are there any promotional features?The magazine includes promotional features such as theWin section where the readers can win tickets and a Guitar. It also displays a subscription to the magazine for £6 pounds a month.

Is the magazine logo placed anywhere on the page? How dominant is it?The magazine does not necessarily have a logo but it does include the magazine name in the contents page and it place just above the contents of the magazine in a bold white colour against a grey/black strip, so it can be clearly seen.

Does the language and style of writing adhere to the house style of the magazine?Yes the language and style adhere to the house style of the magazine because the colours and font are consistent.

Does it identify and call out to the target audience?The magazine identifies the target audience by including a feature called “School of rock” which signals that the magazine are for those who are into the rock genre. The magazine calls out to the target audience through the editors letter, making a personal connection to the readers.

Does the magazine use images?The Magazine uses one main image in the contents page three other small ones around it.

How have these images been constructed?These images have all been constructed against artificial coloured backgrounds, possibly in a studio. One image is photo shopped as a shadow surrounds the singer Florence’s face leaving one eye visible in a ‘V’ shape, which could connote a sort of mysteriousness

What colours and fonts are used? Does this support the style of the front cover?The colours used are red, white and black, which are the house style of the magazine so it does support the front cover. The font used also correlates with the front cover in a smaller size.

How is the information organised so that it is accessible to the audience? What are the different sections? What does this tell you about the magazine?The information is organised almost chronologically to make it easier for the audience to follow, with popular suggested page numbers displayed slightly larger than the original font size for the audience to notice. The different sections shown in the contents page are: FEATURES, REGULARS, THE Q REVIEW. This tells me that the magazines information is quite structured.

Are there any promotional features?A Subscription to “Twelve issues of Britain’s biggest music magazine for just £20.”

Is the magazine logo placed anywhere on the page? How dominant is it?The magazine logo is a smaller image of the original size of the font cover at the top of the contents page and the logo is also placed at the bottom of the page at the right corner beside the page number.

Does the language and style of writing adhere to the house style of the magazine?Yes the language and style of writing adhere to the house style of the magazine.

Does it identify and call out to the target audience?Yes, because it mentions in one of its features “Hair metal- it’s the music, grunge, fashion drugs...” These are topics that late teenagers who are into to rock and metal would stereotypically face.
