Global amblyopia training trendThe most common approach to amblyopia is to treat by patching the nonamblyopiceye. This treatment was used as early as 1743 by Georges-Luis Lellerc, the Comte de Buffon. Patching or occlusion, of “good ”eye may strengthen connections between the amblyopic eye and the brain .

In 2007, Robert Hess and his colleagues at McGill University published study demonstrating that people with amblyopia do not discount all information from the amblyopic eye. They suggested that therapy for amblyopia should include procedure in which the good eye is not patched but is put at a disadvantage .

In fact, this general strategy has been used by developmental/behavioral optometrists for the past forty years . They have developed a class of procedures called “monocular fixation in a binocular field”(MFBF).

In MFBF procedures, both eyes are open, but only the amblyopic eye can be used for the difficult tasks .Note: This above sentence quoted from "FIXING MY GAZE" which is the work of Suzan R.Barryprofessor of neurobiology.

New “Occlu-pad” training for amblyopiaPutting the circular polarizing filter over amblyopic eye, patients can see the screen through the amblyopic eye only. It forces patients to catch the target on the screen by using “weak eye”, while “good eye” sees general surroundings through non-polarizing filter. By playing with hands, patients learn the point intuitively and get ready to practice binocular visual function training, following MFBF procedures.

Tokyo’s International Crafts Overseas Project

【Features】Yamato Co., Ltd and 6 Japanese traditional craft producers have created a newly formulated business model focusing on the Japanese craft needs from abroad Japan. This new venture provides a new sales route for Japanese craftsmen, and also works as a worldwide information transmitter of crafts produced in Tokyo with the hope of developing succession plans.

This partnership will contribute to keep a constant supply of products providing equilibrium within the market and a centralized operated service from craftsmen to end-users.

For the upcoming 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the Japanese Government is aiming at 40 million visitors with inbound and outbound needs. This project intends to pass on “Wa’s Message” (Japan’s spirit) through Tokyo’s traditional crafts to this visitors.
