contents analysis record

Contents analysis This is the contents page of record collector magazine. It is slightly alternative to the contents of the other two magazines. The first difference is that it is not called the contents, it is headed ‘track list’. This would be more appealing to the target audience. The contents page of this magazine is split into two sections. Pictorial on the right and textural on the left. This allows the magazine to give more written information about the rest of the magazine. The pictures on the right hand side have a very broad range with one being of an old school poster and another of an artist on a motorcycle in the desert. The information about the rest of the magazine is ordered not into page numbers but depending on what type of articles they are. They are split into features, regulars and reviews. This makes it easier to find specifically what you are

This makes it easier to find specifically what you are looking for in the magazine. Apart from the photo’s, the rest of the contents page is quite bare with very little colour in the font and no background. Overall, although relatively bare I think this is a good way to structure the contents page as it draws you to read more not by dazzling you with bright colours but rather by informing you about everything you are missing if you do not read the magazine.
