GIVE A GIFT AT CHRISTMAS Trinity’s Children’s Sunday School is sponsoring a church-wide Christmas mission project to benefit the children in the community around Central United Methodist Church. Each gift needs to be wrapped and returned (with the age, size & gender sticker and clothes or toy sticker attached to it) by December 6 to Leila Denton's office. Thank you for your generous donations to this most important project.

Advent Devotions for Children and Families
December 3 is the first Sunday in Advent and a Devotion Booklet will be
given out in Sunday School, made available in the Welcome Center and given out at the Sharing HOPE Night event. Make sure you get a copy. We hope that
families will enjoy celebrating together throughout the Advent season.
Advent Angels We Have Heard On High - Sticker Book And Poster
Angels We Have Heard On High will be sent home through children’s Sunday School on December 3. Angels are God’s special messengers. We prepare to receive, celebrate and share their exciting message of all: the good news and great joy that comes to us through Jesus’ birth. Hear the angels’
heavenly announcement of the promised Savior as the skies over Bethlehem fill with a multitude of heavenly host. Each day in Advent an angel sticker is added to the Bethlehem skyline. When Christmas arrives, we join in singing the angels’ first Noel!

Caroling Monday,

Trinity families have gathered to informally sing Christmas Carols.
For questions or concerns, please contact Charles
Staples.
The Christmas season is about giving rather than receiving.
Advent Offering for Children
This is a reminder that keeping the shelves stocked at Sherbourne UMC Food Pantry is an ongoing need. Our
congregation targets the first Sunday of each month, but please bring in non perishable food as often as you
can during this Advent season. Please place the food in Mission Central (the closet behind the display case in
the main hallway.) Please don’t forget!
As you light your advent wreath, please remember to pray for the people that benefit from
Sherbourne UMC Food Pantry: that they will experience God’s HOPE, LOVE, JOY, and PEACE from our simple offerings during the Advent season and throughout the year.

Children’s Sunday School for the Holidays
Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve fall on Sundays this year, so you may wonder what is happening with Sunday
School on those days. On Christmas Eve, December 24 there will be no
Sunday School, but we hope everyone will come to the service at 10:30 AM.
On New Year’s Eve, December 31 the Education Committee is inviting all Kindergarten – 5th grade
Sunday School children to come to room 300 at 9:30 AM to celebrate together.

We Are Resolved
As your family celebrates ringing in the
New Year, make resolutions to-gether. After creating your family resolutions, place them on the re-
frigerator so everyone can re-member your family goals
throughout the year. Here are a few suggestions :
Bedtime Stories—Read at least
one book together each night. Have bedtime prayers.
• Getting Active—Spend 30
minutes each day staying healthy—take a walk after dinner, have a dance party, or build a backyard obstacle course and use it. Praise God for the gift of health.
• Bible Reading—Each week,
choose a Bible story that your en-tire family reads together and dis-cusses.
Helping Others—Put others first each day. Choose a family service project each month

Lessons from a snowman
• It’s okay to wear white well after Labor Day. • Simply hanging out in your front yard can be fun. • Accessories don’t have to be fancy or expensive. • We’re all made mostly of water. • You know you’ve “arrived” when a song is written about you. • So what if you’re a little bottom-heavy? • Don’t get too much sun. • Sweating too much can be disastrous!
Two different events will be held in Trinity Hall during the 9:30 AM Sunday School time for kids and parents. One for 3rd grade and one for 4th grade. Children and parents (or other adult) will have fun learning a little more about using the Bible. Events are designed for an adult and child to work together at their own pace in a learning center environment. Children will experience practical ways to discover God’s Word and make the Bible a part of their everyday life. Parents will learn how to cultivate children’s use of the Bible at home.
For 3rd grader and parent - At 9:30 AM meet in Trinity Hall - Remember to bring your Bible
For 4th grader and parent - At 9:30 AM meet in Trinity Hall - Remember to bring your Bible
