OPEC member Kuwait is a major oil producer.

The US Energy Information Administration says

PEC Secretary General, HE Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, last 21

February 2017 delivered a keynote address at the International Petroleum

Cranny, Markets Editor/Anchor, Bloomberg TV, who followed the Secretary General’s speech with a number

of questions, including some from the audience.

The Secretary General initially highlighted how much has changed in the industry since the last time he

spoke in London at the Oil & Money conference back in October 2016. He highlighted the landmark and

historic decisions reached by OPEC and non-OPEC at the end of last year, stressing that “collaborative and

timely intervention was taken to address the prevailing market realities.”

The company said

The Iranian offshore oil company brought the situation

under control on the 16th of March early morning and all

makes the operation difficult as well as it was difficult for

the satellite observation.

MEMAC is in communication with IR Iran for further

investigation and a full report will be issued as soon as

the investigation is over.

Bapco formally launched the ‘Waste Segregation and Recycling Programme’ on Thursday 23rd February

2017 in the presence of Bapco Chief Executive, Deputy Chief Executive Refining & Marketing and other

members of the Executive Management Team. The launching ceremony included welcome remarks by

Ahmed Khalil, Manager HSE, followed by a presentation on the Waste Segregation and Recycling

Programme from the Environmental Management Section. Bapco’s Chief Executive, Dr. Peter Bartlett, and

the Chairman of Bapco’s Environment, Health and Safety Committee (EHSC) & DCE Refining and Marketing,

Mr. Ebrahim Talib, also highlighted the importance of this programme and the role of all employees towards

the success of it. The ceremony ended with distributing appreciation shields to the recycling services

provider, Nidukki Trading Company, in addition to Bapco’s general cleaning contractors, ACME and AREENA

Contractor Group for their efforts and support towards the implementation of the Recycling Programme. The

ceremony was also attended by a number of Bapco Managers, building owners, HSE Department

representatives and Bapco cleaning and recycling services contractors.

Benefits of Recycling

Recycling has many environmental benefits in addition to economic advantages. The majority of general

waste from our day-to-day activities ends up buried forever in landfill, taking up space and money, with no

potential for the wasted item to be re-used. Recycling is a process that converts waste into re-usable

materials, which does not only lead to the conservation of our resources, saves costs and sustains our

environment for future generations, but also results in the reduction of pollution and prevention of greenhouse

gases entering our earth’s atmosphere; clearly a win-win situation.
