LES TALENTS À LA CARTE DE MAISON&OBJET PARIS Septembre 2014

   Chaque session, le salon MAISON&OBJET offre un espace d’expression à six signatures montantes de la création dans le but de leur permettre de présenter leur travail aux professionnels du monde entier. Pour la session de MAISON&OBJET PARIS, du 05 au 09 septembre 2014, la parole est donnée aux jeunes créateurs français !  À découvrir Hall 7 : Ferreol Babin, Fabien Cappello, Stéphane Margolis, Joseph Meidan et Marion Duclos, Ruiz-Stephinson et Louise de Saint Angel et Romain Guillet.

THE TALENTS À LA CARTE AT MAISON&OBJET PARIS September 2014

   Every MAISON&OBJET event provides a space for expression to six up-and-coming names in the world of design, offering them the chance to present their work to professionals from around the world. For the MAISON&OBJET PARIS show held from the 5th to the 9th of September 2014, a selection of 6 young French designers will be showcased.  

 In Hall 7, discover the works of: Ferreol Babin, Fabien Cappello, Stéphane Margolis, Joseph Meidan and Marion Duclos, Ruiz-Stephinson and Louise de Saint Angel and Roman Guillet.

Membre du département design de La Fabrica (centre de recherche fondé par Benetton à Trévise) sous la direction artistique de Sam Baron et designer indépendant (FontanaArte et Moustache), Ferreol Babin recherche en permanence l’équilibre entre l’aspect fonctionnel et rationnel, et la dimension poétique et émotionnelle.

 As a member of the design department at La Fabrica (a Treviso research Centre founded by Benetton) under the artistic direction of Sam Baron, as well as an independent designer (FontanaArte and Moustache), Ferreol Babin never ceases to strive for balance of function and rationale, integrating a poetic and emotional dimension to his work.

Les premiers travaux de Fabien Cappello explorent l’idée de localité et d’utilisation créative de ressources locales. Son approche ouverte trace un lien entre objets usuels, cultures et patrimoines. Sa principale source d’inspiration est notre vie quotidienne ; il prend le temps d’observer nos actions, nos espaces et la façon dont nous les habitons.

 Fabien Cappello’s early works explore the idea of place and creative use of local resources. His open approach establishes a connection between everyday objects, cultures and heritages. He draws most of his inspiration from our everyday lives, taking the time to observe our actions, our spaces and how we inhabit them.

Stéphane Margolis, artiste végétal, présente sa vision de l’art par ses compositions florales. Ce qui en fait sa particularité, c’est le ressenti du parcours même de l’artiste : d’une part des voyages à travers la flore mondiale (Inde, Costa Rica, Maroc, US, Mexique) et d’autre part la faune musicale dont il se fait le chef-d’orchestre. Il présente pour Talents à la Carte des installations et sculptures végétales.

 Botanical artist Stéphane Margolis presents his vision of art through his floral compositions. What makes his work so intriguing is the echo of his own travels and experiences: starting with journeys through the world’s flora (India, Costa Rica, Morocco, U.S., Mexico), and then musical wildlife, for which he assumes the role of conductor. He will be presenting plant sculptures and installations at the Talents à la Carte exhibition.

 La nature de la collaboration entre Joseph Meidan (plasticien) et Marion Duclos (architecte d’intérieur) a grandi à partir d’une conversation sur l’ésthétique et les matériaux. Les deux créateurs ont alors décidé de décrire physiquement et visuellement leurs produits via un pont entre architecture et culture. Cette collaboration est un exemple de dialogue contemporain entre art et design et la volonté de couvrir leurs frontières floues.

 The nature of the collaboration between Joseph Meidan (visual artist) and Marion Duclos (interior designer) took root during a conversation about aesthetics and materials. The two designers then decided to physically and visually describe their creations, doing so across a bridge between architecture and culture. This collaboration demonstrates a contemporary dialogue between art and design and the desire to cover their indistinct borders.

Respectivement de France et de Grande-Bretagne, ce duo travaille de façon symbiotique. Le spectateur est pour eux l’élément charnière reliant deux univers en un point central : l’exposition. Il est question de dessiner des espaces réels et virtuels, multi sensoriels «sur-mesure», dans lesquels chaque oeuvre - de part sa forme interactive - place et intègre le public au coeur du processus.

 From France and Great Britain, this pair works symbiotically. To their mind, the viewer is the pivotal element connecting two worlds at a central point: the exhibition. It entails establishing real and virtual, multi-sensory, ‘tailor-made’ spaces in which each work – due to its interactive form – makes the public the tangible and conceptual central feature of the process.

Louise de Saint Angel et Romain Guillet sont un duo de designers parisiens qui - depuis 2010 - travaillent seuls ou en duo sur des projets d’objets et d’espaces. Ils partagent le goût pour les objets trandisciplinaires, les invitations multiples et une défi nition large du design ; et rassemblent pour Talents à la Carte différents projets issus d’un parcours questionnant régulièrement les frontières et connexions entre art et design, conception et fabrication, pièces uniques et objets multiples.

Louise de Saint Angel and Roman Guillet are two Parisian designers who have been working alone or as a duo on object and space projects since 2010. They share a love of cross-disciplinary objects, manifold invitations and a broad defi nition of design. For the Talents à la Carte exhibition, they bring together a variety of projects from professional paths that have regularly challenged the boundaries and relationships between art and design, creation and manufacture, one-off pieces and multiple objects.
