re-started easily

The SGT system prepares the mash and helps release oil from the germ. The SGT CC
equipment and process is designed to grind wet slurry in conjunction with liquefaction to
release more starch during liquefaction. The process is based on selectively grinding to
reduce particle size and present a narrow distribution of particle sizes so that more
starch may become hydrated and broken down to sugars during liquefaction. The
counter-current portion of the system is designed to enhance liquefaction by washing
unconverted grit starch and germ particles back to the mill for milling and washing
sugars thus improving fermentation.

FLUID QUIP BOS SYSTEM
Corn Oil Recovery DescriptionThe Brix Oil Separation (BOS) system design:
Recover raw corn oil from the liquefaction slurry prior
to fermentation.
The BOS system recovers a lower Free Fatty Acid (FFA)
corn oil than other systems which only recover oil post
fermentation and beer column. Oil not recovered
prior to fermentation is later recovered in backset from
thin stillage utilizing the Backset Clarification System
(BCS) and returned to liquefaction where is can be
recovered by the BOS. The process utilizes Fluid-Quip
multi-phase dewatering screens, Triton disc stack 3-
phase centrifuge, and a polishing 3-phase decanter
to process the stream and recover the oil.
Benefits of BOS:
• Designed to recover 1.0 lb of corn oil per bushel
• Actually achieved 0.8 lb/bu for a test run• Averaged 0.3 lb/bu during multi-month operation
