Supporting documentation – I. Letter7 from Supervisor/ Co-supervisors (where applicable) stating (i) agreement to

supervise the applicant if they are successful and (ii) how the proposed research fits with the supervisor’s own research focus and strategy. This letter must be signed by the supervisor/co-supervisors as appropriate; electronic signatures are acceptable (1 page maximum).

II. Optional: Letter of support (internal or external) that provides supporting information as to the suitability of the candidate and/or the impact of the proposed research (1 page maximum – maximum of 1 letter).

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF THE STRATEGIC RESEARCH FUND AWARDS 1. Receipt of UCC Strategic Research Fund (SRF) PhD Scholar Awards must be acknowledged

by return email within five working days issue of the Award. 2. Contract assessment forms (Appendix C’s) need to be completed by the primary PhD

supervisor within ten working days post Award acceptance. 3. Contract assessment forms are to be returned to the Research Office in hard copy with

original signatures in order to process setting up of research accounts. Contract assessment forms are at: http://www.ucc.ie/en/research/fuf/

4. SRF Awards must be used for the purpose for which they are requested. Should there be any proposed change to the purpose of the Award please contact [email protected] immediately.

5. It is essential that SRF PhD Scholars provide yearly research progress reports to the SRF Committee. Project report templates are available on the Research Office website.

6. The SRF must be acknowledged on all items of equipment and at all events and publicity including; presentations, conferences and publications where SRF funds have been used. A copy of the SRF logo is available from the Research Office website.
