Our multi-discipline team can provide you with the skills needed to

make your product idea a reality.

Spark Product Innovation excels in high-speed digital electronics,

analogue design, and power electronics. We are also specialists in

software, digital filtering and FPGA coding. The electronics and

software can be packaged in custom casings and enclosures to provide

a full turnkey service (Electronics, Software and Mechanical

Engineering).

The company was founded in January 2017 with a vision to offer our

customers an electronics and software design consultancy with proven

industry experience in some industries most challenging applications.

The team at Spark Product Innovation have a passion for engineering

and product development. Being part of a consultancy allows the team

to concentrate on electronics and software using this specialisation to

quickly and skilfully solve complex engineering challenges across

multiple market sectors.

engineering technician and assembly services, PCB hand soldering,

marketing and purchasing as well as mechanical CAD services.

What We Do

Spark Product Innovation is a multidiscipline design

consultancy who specialise in electronics and software

engineering.

Our capabilities include; high-speed digital electronics,

analogue design, power electronics, high-temperature

applications, PCB layout, FPGA, DSP and microprocessors.

We are also specialists in uP software, embedded

firmware, digital filtering and FPGA VHDL coding.

We can also package the electronics and software in

custom casings and enclosures to provide a full turnkey

product development service and manufacturing and test

if required.

At Spark we have a readymade engineering team that is

cost-effective versus building your own team of

employees, managing contractor resource and having to

kit out an expensive laboratory.

We also work with established design teams that need

short term help to manage design cycle peaks or need

specialised technical assistance.

Spark Product Innovation offers flexible commercial

packages including fixed-price contracts for projects with

mature requirements and consultancy arrangements for

when the requirements are still being developed.

We also have extensive facilities to assist in the design,

test and manufacture of our products including our office,

dedicated ESD protected laboratory, thermal test

chamber and extensive 19” rack and bench electronic test

equipment.

Scope

Provide a custom power distribution

management system for an

avionics application where an off

the shelf solutions didn’t meet the

Size, Weight and Power and

Performance (SWaP)

requirements.

Solution

Spark Product Innovation created a

multi-module solution to enable the

packaged electronics to fit into the

space envelope allowed by the

application. A custom wiring

harness was also designed and

manufactured to connect the

various electronics modules.

Avionics Power Distribution Management System

• Ruggedized PCB assemblies with base plate cooling.

• Packaged in light weight strengthened plastics for high thermal transfer

and structural integrity.

• Power electronics for switching large DC currents between primary and

auxiliary power sources.

• Rechargeable lithium ion phosphate cells for very high discharge rates.

• uP based electronics and embedded SW to collect data, and provide

external communications.

Scope

Provide a custom high-speed

FPGA pattern generator with

multiple I/O lines for use in a cutting

edge quantum computing

application.

Solution

Spark Product Innovation created a

Printed Circuit Board (PCB)

assembly with ultra-high speed

differential tracking and carefully

designed termination networks, we

also created the necessary FPGA

firmware to deliver our customer a

turnkey solution.

Xilinx Kintex Ultrascale+ FPGA Pattern Generator

• High Speed Xilinx Kintex Ultrascale+ FPGA

(XCKU5P) with 6.25 GHz I/O lines and FPGA

based MicroBlaze microprocessor.

• Analog devices HMC856 wideband 28 Gbps,

Digital Time Delay IC with 3pS resolution.

• USB and UART interfaces to allow customization

and user programmable patterns.

• High Speed I/O lines available on FMC mezzanine

connector to facilitate system testing and

commissioning.

• Fully simulated and laboratory tested high speed

differential tracking and termination networks.

• Custom 14GHz Firmware.

Scope

Spark Product Innovation was

approached to take an existing 3

phase 440V filter and make design

changes to comply with Def Stan

59-41 stringent EMC requirements.

Solution

The solution was a high-density

small form factor 3 phase filter with

low DC resistance to minimise the

power dissipation. The customer

and end-user witnessed EMC

testing that was passed first time.

Spark Product Innovation now

manufacture these filters on behalf

of the client.
