Donations can be given by Cheque in favour of “Tata Memorial Hospital (A/C No. 2554)”. Donations are eligible for 80G Exemption. Donors are requested to provide their contact details and a copy of their pan card to process the same.

An autonomous body, under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, was founded in 1941.

It is one of the largest cancer centres in the world, providing exceptional clinical service, imparting high quality training and conducting innovative need based clinical research.

The hospital caters to over 70,000 new patients each year –amongst

them 3000 are children (less than 18 years of age).

Patients come from all over the country and a vast majority of them (atleast 70%) are given free or highly subsidized treatment.

The Department of Paediatric Oncology endeavours to provide holistic support to all children with cancer, during their difficult journey of cancer treatment.

Has been set up by the hospital to look after children with cancer.

Administered by the Paediatric Oncology Department of the hospital.

Established in October 2010 to provide holistic support to each and every child coming to the hospital.

Children and their families are helped from Day 1 of registration in the hospital, with all components of support.

It ensures that each and every child coming to the hospital for treatment, gets the best chance at cure!

WAY S TO H E L P U S

1. FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR TREATMENTa. Emergency funds for treatment:This would cover the initial investigations and emergency treatment expenses to every needy family and prevent early treatment abandonment.b. Adopt a child for complete treatment: This would cover the costs incurred for complete treatment of one child for chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery.

2. BE A BLOOD/PLATELET DONORa. Save A Life by donating blood /platelets for the patients undergoing treatment.b. Help by giving corporate contacts for conducting blood donation/platelet donation drives.

3. SUPPORT NUTRITION & HYGIENEa. This would include support for nutrition supplements like protein supplements, threptin biscuits, dry fruits, ghee packets, milk powders and fruits.b. Donate diapers, baby wipes and new clothes for children.

4. SUPPORT FOR ACTIVITIESa. Support a Birthday Bash b. Support a music/art/craft workshopc. Support a picnic/outing d. Sponsor our Annual Event – ‘HOPE’e. Sponsor education of a child

5. INFRASTRUCTURE FACILITIES & RESEARCHa. Support for purchase of critical medical equipment for providing better quality care for the children.b. Donations to conduct high quality research projects and improve childhood cancer outcomes.

6. BECOME A VOLUNTEEROne can volunteer to help children and families in the pediatric OPD. The minimum time commitment is atleast once a week for three hours for a period of three months. (There is always a wait list for volunteering so request all people to give their applications in advance)

▶ The treatment refusal and abandonment rates have come down from 25% to 3% from 2009 until now – which means so many more lives are being saved!

▶ Provided free treatment to 1800 children through the funds raised by donors, in 2018-19!

▶ Accommodation provided to more than 2000 children and families, through our NGO partners and other organizations, last year!

▶ 52,800 meals distributed to the children through the mid-day meal program sponsored by corporates!

BIRTHDAYS: The foundation organizes birthdays of every child taking treatment at the hospital. This is to give children happy memories of the hospital when they go back home after getting cured.

WORKSHOPS: Foundation organizes Art therapy/Craft/Music/Dance workshops to help the children forget about their disease issues and to heal them better.

HOPE: “HOPE” is the celebration of “Victory over Cancer” and is the biggest Paediatric annual event of the hospital held in December every year to welcome the New Year together.

OUTINGS/MUMBAI DARSHAN: Outings like movies, picnics and Mumbai Darshan are organized for

the children and their care-givers to not only show them the city but also to give them fun-times. These create happy memories of their stay in Mumbai.

PARENT SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS: The Foundation organizes non-formal meetings with all the parents every month to educate them on Cancer and also to address all their queries. The children are kept entertained separately during this period so that the parents can focus on the meetings.

MOSCOW GAMES: The Foundation takes patients to Moscow for the World Children Winners Games! The children are trained for various sports for three months prior to the games. This makes their journey a memorable one.
