These sessions are an ideal opportunity for parents

to introduce very young children to basic water skills in a safe and fun environment. Children willdevelop independence within the water environment through songs and games. They canalso learn the basics of floating, submerging andbuild their confidence within the swimming pool.

These classes are an excellent introduction to water and build confidence in readiness for the childrento begin their learn to swim lesson programme.

PLEASE NOTE that if your child is not yet out of

nappies, swim nappies must be worn in theswimming pool. Conventional nappiesbecome water logged and can weigh your childdown. They can also be a potential hygieneproblem as they are not able to contain smallaccidents within the pool environment. Water proof nappies can be washed and re-used, and areavailable for purchase at all leisure centres justask at reception.

All children should wear appropriate swimwear i.e.trunks/costumes clothing such as long shorts arenot allowed. Children are asked to tie all long hair back and take off any jewellery. For hygienicreasons children if needed should use the toiletand always shower before entering the swimmingpool.
