ConsumerismConsumerism can be described in two ways which both have to

do with economics. In the first one consumerism is described as a social and economical order that is mostly based on the systematic way of creation and the desire to purchase goods or services in a very large amounts. However the second definition of consumerism is based in the movement of a consumer activism, which protects and informs the consumer by purchasing honest packaging and advertising, product guarantees, and the improvement of safety standards. So basically is focuses on the security of the consumer, that everything that is purchase is done in a safe manner, in other words is protecting the rights and interest of a consumer. However consumers is focused in all type of people the ones who can afford it or not, which is a benefit for people who can afford it and a huge disadvantage for those who can’t.

In the case of Mexicans, well is though to consider. Since we as a country have a lot of poverty. Poverty affect the consumerism in both way, the fact that we, people, don't know the rights we have as being a consumer, and most of the times they are broken. Still most mexican who are poor have a greater challenge to keep up their construction of their own goods, because of the price, and taxes. But still, Mexican people who have money are benefited by their growth of goods and they help companies to have a better quality of life such as their income will increase.

Most people call consumerism organized Crime...

Advantages of Consumerism

1.The consumers have the advantage of choosing their life style. This means they choose what goods they choose to have, if they choose luxuries or any other kind.2.They get the opportunity to enjoy other places, as well as the self satisfaction. This includes their wants and needs.3.Consumerism have the advantage to maintain their economic classes, whether they choose middle, upper or low class.4. They have the opportunity to be motivated to improve their social standing, as well as their job. If they decide they may end up with a really good job, but first they need the education.

Disadvantages of Consumerism

Some disadvantages of consumerism are:1.It has the disadvantage of excluding people between their social status. The upper class, middle class, and lower class, they don't get the same advantages. The upper class has much more advantages than the lower class, meanwhile the middle class tries to survive to stay in the middle.2.Another bad thing that consumerism causes, is that they little by little destroy our environment and natural resources. They really affect our global warming, and the ozone layer.3.The population is not equally distributed. The majority of the people, pays more attention to the richer people because they benefit their economy, while they ignore the poor. Basically even though we have the same rights, most of the time they are not applied. 4.People start focusing on looking for money and goods as the greatest thing ever, instead of focusing on the values and helping people.

Consumer's BehaviorThe consumer behavior impacts the quality of life in a huge way,

since what the consumer does will always affect their daily life. A consumer must always be "wise" since its actions or purchases may cause a huge effect in their future, and my lead them to bad decisions or to have a really big debt. However if a consumer is wise, and saves money each time they receive a check, well then if an emergency passes they will be secure, and will be able to buy the "wants" they want, but like always having control of the situation.

Page 10: Consumerism

An example can be gambling because since you are spending all your money in that place your quality of life can go down, where you don't have control of the situation, and most of the time you are not strong to quite it. You never know what is going to happen, and to be a wise consumer you must be able to have control on your money, and learn how to save it and spend it wisely.

Examples of Consumerism

-Education, since as a consumer you buy education and in the future you’ll get a better job.-Buying a car for each one of your kids when they all can share one.-Investing can be another example, since you pay/collaborate in a buisness that you choose that is developing; and after that if the company does well you earn a profit from the buisness you collaborated. -Hospitals are also an example since if you have the money to go to a private hospital you will receive a better health care. -Also where you live can be another example, because by paying more for a house because of its location, will benefit you by being safe, and living in a better place.-If you get a fine and you pay it, the benefit is that you didn't support the corrupted policeman's that we have.

Page 13: Consumerism

A Wise ConsumerA wise consumer must consider other sales, not just focus on one. Must be

able to buy the basic and important needs, that you need on a daily life. Anyhow a consumer must check the quality of a product, and understand how to manage it, as well as to use it. Consumer must take in consideration other stores with the same product to check the values of the prices, how they vary. Also you must ask this questions that will help you spend wise your money: 1. Do I really, really need it? 2. Is it worth it? 3. Do I have something similar? 4. Is it really good quality? Another wise tip that may be helpful is check if it's, pretty/worth it, good, cheap, or the price is great according with the quality.

Mexican and American economic system

Mexican taxes are used for social services for example the government uses them for education, to create more hard working people. The mexican government ask equally for taxes, while in the United States does not. Rich people have to pay for lower taxes, while poor people have to pay higher taxes (in the United States).

However United States buildings are better than Mexico, so this means that the US know how to manage properly their taxes and how take advantage of them.

Effectiveness of both Mexico and US economic system regarding the quality of life for the greatest number of citizens.

Page 19: Consumerism

Still some of the factors that affect the most the quality of living in Mexico can be education, security, health, structure of living, not enough job opportunities, family structure and the influence of violence on families and their children. Mexico could easily improve by having more job opportunities, since this will change the quality of life for most people, and their standard of living will go up, as well as the economy. So by having more job opportunities in Mexico the government will be benefited economically.
