DRAFT 01/11/08 LGBTQ Youth Consultation 2009: Reforming the Movement Dear Friends, The Queer Youth Network would like to invite you to take part in a new and important pilot nationwide consultation project that aims to explore and comprehensively review the issues Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Asexual, Pansexual, Intersex, Transgender, Transsexual, Queer, Queer and Questioning young people as individuals, communities groups and organisations currently face. This initiative is being led and managed by young people themselves and has been developed into three distinct strands - which we've nicknamed DARCI, CLAIRE and ELLIOT! We will be conducting the projects via a variety of methods including online surveys via our website and hopefully a number of events, focus groups and informal interviews in your all over the United Kingdom over the next six months. As it is vitally important we engage with as many groups and organisations as possible please feel free to forward this invitation on to your colleagues and networks as we accept we may not be able to make direct contact with everyone at this initial stage. As this is a national project and it is currently being conducted entirely by volunteers and with limited financial resources we do not yet have a final time-scale for completion of the consultation however we are aiming to present our findings as part of our wider consultation early next year at the National Queer Youth Conference and also via a printed report, video resources and online publications that will be available to download and disseminated through a wide variety of networks and electronic forums.
