BHP Billiton is one of the largest producers of commodities including iron ore, coal, copper and uranium, oil and gas. BHP have benefited from proactively tracking emerging issues across stakeholders, government, landowners, community and media through CM, allowing them to reinforce positive community sentiment and minimise risk of project delay. CM is used across BHP Billiton corporate offices, laboratories, accommodation and mines including Blackwater and Peak Downs, which form part of the 75,000km2 Bowen Basin.

Newcrest Mining is one of the world’s largest gold miners and explorers. CM is used to manage community sponsorship applications and associated budget initiatives for the Cadia Valley Operations, as well as for community consultation. Efficient data capture allows the engagement and accounts teams to track, and publically report on, the $1.7m worth of funding allocated to community groups over each financial year.

New Hope Group is an Australian-owned diversified energy company with operations worldwide. New Hope have implemented CM as a tool to track KPIs and project commitments, to ensure delivery of their Social Commitment Delivery Plan and Integrated Stakeholder Engagement Plan. A CM Webform processes all supplier enquiries for mines including the New Acland Coal Mine, allowing for proactive management of contractors across their site.

Recent changes to legislation have led to stricter reporting requirements for community consultation and compliance with Aboriginal Cultural Heritage and Native Title Acts.
