Consultant
Our main purpose is to be an advocate for the students at our school. We consult with students, parents, teachers, and many other stakeholders regarding strategies to help enhance the personal and academic success of our students.
TeacherWe have a set curriculum, just as
teachers do, that is mandated by the state. We work in many different ways (individual & group counseling, classroom guidance, and school-wide activities) to ensure our success in reaching the goals for each standard.
Personal Counselor / Crisis Counselor
As students and faculty members experience burdens, life changes, or crises we serve as mentors, role models, and confidantes to them.
Group Counselor
Group counseling is conducted throughout the year on different subjects which might include friendship, anger management, bullying, or lifestyle changes.
Career Counselor
Counselors help students investigate the world of work as well as their personal interests and job skills.
Public Relations ConsultantIn this role, the counselor helps
others understand the counseling program as well as helping parents understand the importance of their child’s education at Swansboro Elementary School. The counselor also reaches out to the community and its resources in order to benefit the school and students.
Advisor
The counselor stays connected to the parents, to the teachers, and to the students to ensure everyone is on the same page so the student can experience academic and personal success.
Testing CoordinatorThe counselor at SES serves as our
school’s testing coordinator. All state and local mandated tests are coordinated in the guidance office. If there are any questions or concerns about this process, please call the school.
