Coventry College was formed in August 2017 from a merger between
the City’s two leading colleges – City College Coventry and Henley
College Coventry.
Between us we have been delivering learning and training to employers,
young people and adults in Coventry since the early 1800's.
We benefit from modern facilities which include over a dozen workshops
that are furnished with state-of-the-art equipment.
We work closely with CITB who can advise you how you can use your CITB
levy to fund qualifications.
We employ 600 staff including teachers, trainers and assessors who are
skilled in their trade or professional field of delivery. All our staff are qualified
and complete regular staff training and professional updating as part of their
development programme.
Training is our business. It’s at the heart of our mission to improve the
skills of people and businesses and it’s what we focus all our attention on.
We are committed to working with all our employers and students to make
sure they get the best experience they can and develop a passion for learning.

ASSESSMENTThere are two stages to assessment:= You'll have a visit by your assessor in the workplace to complete competency based assessments. You'll also be required to complete regular exams within the College which include health & safety.
= End point assessment – this will be required if you are completing a new standard qualification and will take place in an external assessment centre.
BENEFITSAll successful apprentices will have the relevant qualifications to be able to apply for a CSCS card as a trade professional.
Where you require English or maths qualifications we will agree a flexible package of support that works for you.
You'll need to complete three substantive pieces of work at your place of work and produce evidence portfolios that demonstrate your understanding and competence. These pieces of work will need to be agreedwith your employer.
Page 2
ASSESSMENTIn addition to completing and achieving the knowledge based qualifications you'll prepare a summative portfolio comprising elements of your substantive projects plus a synoptic project. You’ll also need youremployer's endorsement in the form of a reference and you'll complete a final assessment interview with a panel of external assessors who will assess your final project, summative portfolio and grade you following the interview.
DURATIONThe duration is typically 18-24 months but will depend on experience.
