Appropriate interrogation of illustration and text

I feel that my contents page is the most obvious use of appropriate interrogation of illustration and text, as the text clearly relates to the images that I have chosen to use. I have also carried on one of my articles through from my front cover, however I have changed the picture as I felt by using the same picture would look to plain. The text that is surrounding the picture is clearly related to the picture, as one of the boxes overlaps some of the picture. Another thing that is more obvious with the interrogation of illustration and text is the collection of pictures I have put together, are represented through the text I have surrounding them in. I feel that it is obvious that the text Is to do with the pictures as it is almost like the text is framing them so this makes it more obvious that the text is to do with the pictures.

Awareness of need for variety in fonts

I don’t feel that the variety of text was as important on my contents page, then it was on my front cover however I did use a small variety of text, I have used a consistent text when I have used the words ‘Pandora’s Box’ So this has created an impression that the text that I have used is the bands allocated text. I feel that the text I have used on my contents page is readable and stands out. This is important as I feel that my audience will not struggle when reading my text.

Awareness of need for variety in fonts

These three sections of my contents page have the same font, however I have used various effects that make the fonts vary in size and presentation. For the contents font I added a stroke in Photoshop by right clicking on the layer and selecting blending options the stroke, then finally selecting my desired thickness. I did this because the font was originally thin and I felt that it needed to be thickened in order for it to stand out more. I also did a similar thing to the ‘Main Features’ text, however with this I took a more simpler approach and chose to just make the font bold. With me doing this the fonts are the same, however they do not physically look the same on first glance. I find that with me doing this it has helped me make my work more effective.

I used a purple blur behind the text to make the purple theme more consistent, and also to make it stand out more, as I wanted the word contents to stand out more than other words.

I also used the blur behind this text, I feel that by using a white blur which is different to the contents blur it makes the font look less alike.

Accurate use of language

I have used simple language for my contents page, in which is hard to get wrong, however I have still used spell check and peer feedback to make sure that the language that I have used is appropriate and relevant.

The language that is used within my contents listing is different to that of my front cover and the rest of my contents page. This is simply because of the things that I have included within it such as different bands like; YM@6 and Attack! Attack! This language however is appropriate in the way that I have used it, as it is apart of the contents listings and the bands names I have used I can not change, therefore leaving the language to be appropriate.
