Constitution Day Observed at Himachal Pradesh University-Organised webinar

The constitution Day is being observed by Department of Interdisciplinary Department of Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla through virtual mode in the faculty members and the students of participated actively.

Prof. Prakash Chandel, the director of the department briefed through a written statement that this programme was organised in response to a circular issued the University Grant Commission (UGC) to all the Vice-Chancellors to observe ‘Constitution Day’ or ‘Samvidhan Divas’ on 26th November, 2020.

Prof. Chandel further reported that on this occasion a webinar was organised by the department on ‘Preamble of Indian Constitution’. This discussion on this topic was led by Dr. Baldev Singh Negi, Faculty Rural Development and the students participating actively specifically the introduction of Preamble, purpose of having a Preamble, features of the Preamble, nature of the state and the role of legislature, executive and judiciary in Indian context.

He said that university is running three post-graduate progammes in this department such as M.Sc. Environmental Sciences, MBA-Rural Development, MFA and one-year diploma course in Disaster Management. In the context of Constitution Day, the responsibility of the youth of the country is paramount to uphold the mandates of this unique constitution.

On this occasion the preamble was read by the Director and followed by all the participants. Director DIS-IIHS, thanked the Professor Sikander Kumar Vice-Chancellor of the university for his motivation for organising academic activities in the department all the time. He also thanked the faculty members including Dr. Rattan Chauhan, Dr. Randhir Singh Ranta, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Dr. Pawan Attri, Dr. Pankaj Gupta, Dr. Pushpa Thakur, Kuldeep Singh, Dr. Baldev Singh Negi, Dr. Lalit Kumar Sharma, Dr. Vijay Kuamr, Sunil Jaswal, non-teaching staff and all the participants for their cooperation.
