LEO

• Leo contains several bright stars making it one of the most recognizable constellations in the night sky.

• In the Northern hemisphere the constellation can be seen from January to June.

ORION THE HUNTER

• Orion is a character from Greek mythology, a giant hunter who was placed in the stars by Zeus upon his death.

• Orion is visible in both the Northern and Southern hemispheres.

URSA MAJOR

• The shape of Ursa Major is a great bear.• The big dipper is an asterism, which are stars

which form simple patterns but are not constellations.

• Ursa Major is Latin for Great Bear, although the constellation is based on Greek mythology.

PEGASUS

• Pegasus is a large constellation and easily identifiable due to its bright asterism known as the ‘square of Pegasus.’

• In 1995 the first exoplanet known to orbit a sun like star was discovered in the constellation of Pegasus.
