How to Throw a Boomerang

• Find a large, open, grassy area

• DO NOT throw the boomerang at people or in large crowds!

• Remember – it was used as a weapon!

• Check the wind direction

• Face the wind then turn about 45 degrees from it

• When you are set to throw, tilt the boomerang to about the 1 o’clock position

• Your aim point should be about 20 degrees above your line of sight

• Just imagine a tree way in front of you and aim for its top

• Hold it by the proper end – the curved side should be facing you and the flat side facing away from you

• Use a pinch grip (between thumb and index finger) or cradle grip (with all four fingers)

• When you throw you have to create the spin

• Flick your wrist backwards before snapping it forwards

• You don’t have to throw it hard – concentrate on the spin first!

cocking your wrist backwards,

then snapping it forwards as

you throw. You shouldn't just

release the boomerang -- it
