Past Simple: is used to indicate actions that happened in a especific time in the past.The verbs in the Past Simple are written in two different ways as we can see in the examples below:

I arrived home late.

She lost her purse.

Kelly bought a new pair of shoes.

They closed the store earlier.

Regular verbs: have their past and past participle very similar to their present tense.

Ex:

I arrived home late.

They closed the store earlier.

Irregular verbs: have their past and participle tenses very dissimilar to their present tense.

Ex:

She lost her purse.

Kelly bought a new pair of shoes.
