What’s Happening at St. Agnes School………... Christmas Around the World The students in kindergarten and first grades have enjoyed traveling around

the world learning about Christmas traditions in other countries. Each day,

the groups “board their plane” with suitcases and passports in hand and pay

a visit to the country of the day. They log what they have learned in their travel

journal.

Dominos Pizza Nights St. Agnes School is participating in the Domino's Pizza night

on the first Tuesday and Thursday of each month. Pizza ordered in the name of St. Agnes results in Dominos making a

donation to the school. The class with the most orders receives a pizza party. What a great way to support both the school and our fellow parishioners, Mike and Erika Hackett,

owners of Dominos. Thank you to the Hackett's for their amazing support of our school.

Classroom News………...

Kindergarten Classroom By Teri Ramirez

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!!!

As we move into a new month, we celebrate ourselves as well as our children. Together, we have helped our children progress a little further. It always amazes me how much the students learn within a few months. I am very proud of my students progress, and can't wait to see the end results come May. December is such a short month for us, but it seems like it's the busiest month because there are so many activities going on in kindergarten. Over the past few weeks we have been traveling around the world exploring how other children celebrate Christmas. We started off with some of our own traditions, and then jetted off to England, Sweden, Mexico, Germany, and Italy. We ended our journey when we traveled to the North Pole. The kindergarten students performed The Nativity play for their parents and the entire school.

From the entire kindergarten class, we would like to wish everyone a very Merry

Christmas!

Fourth Grade Class By Kristie Becker

Fourth grade has been working hard this Advent season to be charitable and kind. They have been doing random acts of kindness around the school and decided to help by doing a charitable act. They decided to donate money to the Panhandle Humane Society. Fourth graders brought in money of their own and various dog treats to put under our tree. They have donated almost $50. We took those donations to the Humane Society before Christmas break. I’m so proud of their good hearts this Advent season. Students also participated in a book exchange for Christmas in our classroom. They are all excited to have a new book to read over Christmas break!

Students have enjoyed participating in Las Posadas for our Advent Celebration here at school and continued to work in the religion books on the chapter “Final King.” In science, we are started our unit on the solar system and recently did a fun activity creating moon phases out of oreo cookies. In social studies, we moved onto learning about different explorers that have come through Nebraska and the United States, including the Lewis and Clark Expedition.

In December, we read an entertaining Christmas novel titled, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Students enjoyed learning about the Herdman family, who do not know the Christmas story and the true meaning of Christmas until they are in the church Christmas pageant. This is a truly wonderful book to read this time of year!

I am wishing all my students, the school

families, and the Parish a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We are excited to see

what 2019 will bring us in fourth grade!
