For t h e purposes of t h i s policy, vending machines a r e defined, but not necessar i ly l imi ted t o , laundry washing machines, c lo thes dryers , candy and gum machines, c i g a r e t t e machines, s o f t dr ink machines, s k i l l game machines, food dispensing machines, pay telephones, and photo-copying machines.

2. A l l vending machine income received by each col lege w i l l be deposited and used a s follows:

P r o f i t from vending machines located i n student residence h a l l s and/or apartments, except t h a t from pay telephones which s h a l l be deposited t o t h e General Fund, w i l l be deposited i n t h e Auxiliary Services Fund and used f o r purposes a s recommended by a committee representing res iden t s tudents and approved by t h e College Pres i - dent (or h i s designee). I n cases where food vending machines by contrac tual arrangement a r e under t h e con t ro l of t h e food services vendor, income which accrues t o t h e col lege from such food vending machines s h a l l be t r e a t e d i n t h e same manner a s income from other types of vending machines.

1. For the purposes of this policy, vending machines are defined, but not necessarily limited to, laundry washing machines, clothes dryers, candy and gum machines, cigarette machines, soft drink machines, skill game machines, food dispensing machines, pay telephones, and photo-copying machines.

2.2 Income from vending machines lo student centers will be deposited in the Studen ty Fund and will be used for student center purp ommended by a Student Center Governing organi and approved by the College President, except i colleges where food vending machines, by contractua ement, are under the control of food services vendor.

2.3 Income from vending machines located 1 other campus buildings will be deposited in the In tional Welfare Fund and will be used as follows:

Policy on Use of Vending Machine Income

1. Vending machine income received by each college w i l l be used as follows:

1.1. Income from vending machines located i n Housing w i l l be used f o r Housing purposes.

1.2. Income from vending machines located i n Student Centers w i l l be used f o r Student Center purposes.

1.3. Income from vending machines located i n a l l other campus bui ldings w i l l be used as follows:

1.31. A sum up t o $2,000 per year w i l l be deposited i n an account t o be controlled by the College President and w i l l be used f o r e s s e n t i a l college business d i r e c t l y involving the Office of the College President.

1.32. Additional income from these vending machines up t o $2,000 per year w i l l be d i s t r ibu ted as scholarships o r grants. The Financia l Aids Office of each college w i l l determine the r ec ip i en t s of these scholarships or grants. The maximum annual scholarship o r grant w i l l not exceed $500.

1.33. A l l remaining income w i l l be divided equally between the account t o be controlled by the College President and the Scholarships and Grants Account.

2. For the purpose of t h i s policy vending machine income is derived, without l imi ta t ion , from such devices as washing machines, c lo thes dryers, candy and gum machines, c i ga r e t t e machines, s o f t drink machines, food dispensing machines, and s k i l l game machines.

3. The College Presidents and the Central Office s h a l l jo in t ly e s t ab l i sh uniform accounting procedures and controls t o ensure t h a t t h i s pol icy is car r ied out. Monies s h a l l be expended i n a manner t o be determined by t he College President,
