Congratulations. You made it. We welcome you to sing that song you were humming on the way here. Release the breath you were holding during registration. High-five the person standing nearest to you – indeed, you both deserve that. YOU ARE WORLD CHANGERS. In fact, you are so much more than that: thinkers, dreamers, artists, [insert inspiring plural noun ___________], [insert strange plural noun ___________]. The truth is, words could never describe the incredible that is you.

The mission and ultimate goal of TEDxYouth@SanDiego is to be a spark of inspiration and a catalyst for change to hundreds, if not thousands, of young people across San Diego County. Many of these youth labor under the wrongful impression that they are too young, too inexperienced, or too unimportant to make a difference in their communities and their world.

About TEDxYouth@SanDiego

Go forth to experience this day with your childlike sense of wonder. We know you have one – discover it, even if you have forgotten. This. Is. Key.

Question everything. Unearth your own truths.

Now, Changer… One last thing… If you brought nothing else, we hope that you at least remembered:

An open mind, and the gumption to share what is in there.

Your IDEAS are WORTH SPREADING.

“Here’s to the Crazy Ones. The misfits. The

rebels. The trouble-makers. The round pegs

in the square holes. The ones who see things

differently. They’re not fond of rules, and they

have no respect for the status-quo. You can

quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or

vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do

is ignore them. Because they change things.

They push the human race forward. And

while some may see them as the crazy ones,

we see genius. Because the people who are

crazy enough to think they can change the

world are the ones who DO!”

About TED

About TEDxTEDx was created in the spirit of TED’s mission, “ideas worth spreading.” The program is designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level.
