SCREW-IN SETTING CROWN

Some deep-depth water-resistant watches require the setting crown tobe screwed in to ensure water-resistant. If your Nautica watch has atransparent sticker at back of the case back (diagram above) pleaseunscrew the crown before setting your watch, and the crown must bescrewed in after setting the watch.

To screw in, push in the crown firmly against the thread protrusion andhold it in while turning the crown clockwise. Continue to screw in thecrown light until it is tight .

ELAPSED TIME RINGIf your watch is equipped with a rotatable outer dial with numbers andindicators, this Elapsed Time Ring may be used to indicate the length oftime remaining for an activity or the starting time of an activity.TIME REMAINING - set the outer ring so that the traingle is pointing tothe time the activity is to end.STARTING TIME - set the triangle on the time the activity is to begin.

TACHYMETERA tachymeter measures the speed at which the wearer has traveledover a measured distance, i.e., a measured mile on the highway. Forexample, start the chronograph when you pass the starting point andstop it when you pass the finish. You can then read your speed in unitsper hour off the tachymeter scale.

BAND ADJUSTMENTTo disconnect band from clasp, press in end of spring bar(use pin or small paper clip) and separate link band fromclasp as illustrated.

To reassemble band to clasp, place spring bar in band and place end ofspring bar into desired hole in clasp. Press opposite end of spring bar inand slide into clasp and position so tip snaps into corresponding hole.

Example of using split time measurement for two runnersTwo runners can be timed simultaneously; the first runner’s time can be recordedwhile the second runner’s time will continue to be accumulated until he finishes.

SPLIT TIME MEASUREMENT:1. Press pusher “A” to start the timing of the first runner2. Press pusher “B” to stop and record the timing of the first runner. (Once

pusher B is activated, even though the stopwatch 1/20 sec. hand and the bigstopwatch sec. hand stop on the dial, the stopwatch still continues to timeinternally.)

3. Press pusher “B” to start the timing of the second runner. The stopwatch sec.hand will jump to show internal accumulated time and to carry on timing ofthe second runner.

4. Press pusher “A” to stop the timing of the second runner and record the time5. Press pusher “B” for third time to reset, all stop watch hands will return to 12

o’clock position.

TO START THE STOPWATCH:• Push pushers “A”, the big sec will start counting at intervals of 1/5 sec for the

first thirty minutes.

TO STOP THE STOPWATCH:• Push the pusher “A” again to stop timing.

TO RESET THE STOPWATCH:• Push pushers “B”, to reset the stopwatch. Both the big sec. hand and small

hand at the small eve at 10 o’clock position will go back to 12 o’clock position.

STOPWATCH IN “HOUR CHRONO MODE”After the big sec hand has run for thirty minutes, the watch will stay with the“hour chrono mode”. The big sec hand jumps to the hour indicator to carry onwith the timing. (Be ware, in this mode, the big sec hand moves very slowly andlooks like as it has stopped.)

TO STOP THE STOPWATCH FOR LONG HOURS CHRONO MEASUREMENT:Push pusher “A” will stop the stopwatch. The big sec. hand stops at the hourindicator on the dial to show how many hours the stopwatch has timed. At thesame instance, the small eye at 10 o’clock position also shows the minutes timing.Then, press pusher “B” the big sec. hand will jump to show the seconds timing.

TO RESET THE STOPWATCH:Push the pusher “B” to reset the stopwatch. Both the big sec. hand and smallhand at the small eye at 10 o’clock position will go back to 12 o’clock position.

TO ADJUST STOPWATCH HANDS:1. Push the pushers “A” and “B” simultaneously and hold for 2 seconds to activate

the reset mode.

2. Push the pusher “B” to reset the small hand of the eve at 10 o’clock position.After the pusher is pushed, the small sec hand will reach the “30” positionexactly.

3. Push the pusher “B” to reset the big sec. hand. When it moves close to the11 o ‘clock position, adjust it by pushing the button sec by sec until it reachesthe 12 o’clock position exactly.

4. Push the pushers “A” and “B” simultaneously and hold for 2 seconds to de-activate the reset mode.

SPLIT TIME MEASUREMENT FOR TIMING TWO RUNNERS:1. Push the pusher “A” to start the timing of both runners.2. Push the pusher “B” to split, the big sec. hand stops to show timing of the

first runner, but the timing continues internally.3. Push again the pusher “B” to resume timing, and the hand moves quickly to

make up the elapsed time.4. Push the pusher “A” to indicate the timing of the second runner.

ALARMTo set the alarm:1. Pull crown to position “B”2. Turn crown counter clockwise to set alarm (colour hand)3. Push crown to position “A”

1. Press pusher “A” to start the timing of the first and second runner2. Press pusher “B” to stop and record the timing of the first runner. ( Once pusher “B” is activated, even though the chrono minute hand and the

big stopwatch sec. hand stop on the dial, the stopwatch still continues tointernally.)

3. Press pusher “B” to catch up the timing of the second runner. The stopwatchsec. hand will jump to show internal accumulated time and to carry on timingof the second runner.

4. Press pusher “A” to stop the timing of the second runner and record the time.5. Press pusher “B” for third time to reset, all stopwatch chrono hands will return

to “12” and “0” position.

CORRECTIVE MODE FOR STOPWATCH CHRONO HANDS1. Pull crown to position “C”2. Press pushers “A” and “B” simultaneously for at least 2 seconds.3. The big stopwatch sec hand rotates by 360 degree to activate corrective

mode

TO ADJUST THE BIG SEC. STOPWATCH HANDIf it is not located at “12” or “0” position, either press pusher “A” continuously orrepeatedly until the hand moves by each interval and returns to “12” and “0”position.

After finish adjusting big sec. stopwatch hand, press crown back toposition “A” to terminate the adjustment.

TO ADJUST THE HOUR CHRONO HANDAfter activate the corrective mode; if the hour chrono hand in not located at “12”or “0” position, press pusher “B” once to activate the corrective mode of the hourchrono hand. SPLIT TIME MEASUREMENT:1. Press pusher “A” to start the timing of the first runner2. Press pusher “B” to stop and record the timing of the first runner. (Once

pusher B is activated, even though the stopwatch 1/20 sec. hand and the bigstopwatch sec. hand stop on the dial, the stopwatch still continues to timeinternally.)

3. Press pusher “B” to start the timing of the second runner. The stopwatch sec.hand will jump to show internal accumulated time and to carry on timing ofthe second runner.

4. Press pusher “A” to stop the timing of the second runner and record the time5. Press pusher “B” for third time to reset, all stop watch hands will return to 12

o’clock position.

LIMITED WARRANTYThe Basic Coverage: This NAUTICA watch (but not any battery, crystal, case, bandor strap) is warranted to the owner for a period of FIVE YEARS from the date ofpurchase against defects In manufacture by Nautica Watches - not by the dealerfrom whom the watch was purchased.

What Nautica Watches Will Do:If this watch develops such a defect within the five year period it will be repaired (i.e., a new or thoroughly reconditioned and inspected movement will be installed) orreplaced (a watch of equal value and similar appearance will be supplied) at ouroption, provided it is returned with a $7.50 check or money order to cover costs ofpostage, handling and service, and you provide proof of purchase and date ofpurchase.

This Limited Warranty Does Not Cover:1) Nautica Watches will not repair defects related to servicing not performed by

Nautica Watches.2) Nautica Watches will not provide any warranty service if your watch shows

evidence that it has been tampered with, misused, abused, or altered; forexample:• moisture damage sufficient to affect the proper function of the watch;• damage to the case; or• visible cracking of the crystal.

3) Nautica Watches reserves the right to charge you for a replacement battery, ifthe battery in your watch is depleted.
