Pennsylvania has some of the highest caliber doctors who consistently go above and beyond, not only in caring for their patients, but also by graciously giving of their time and talents to teach the next generation of doctors. Dr. Margaret S. (Peg) Atwell, MD, FACP of Reading, is the Section Chief of Occupa-tional Medicine at The Reading Hospital.

Dr. Evan Pollack, MD’s (right) award is presented by Dr. Arnold Eiser, MD, FACP. Pollack, of Bryn Mawr, is an advi-sor for case management and utilization and healthcare fraud abuse.

Dr. Anuradha Paranjape, MD, MPH, FACP’s (left) award is presented by Dr. Jose Missuri. Paranjape, of Philadelphia, is Professor and Section Chief of the Section of General Internal Medicine and Vice Chair for Faculty Development for the Department of Medicine at Temple University School of Medicine (TUSM).

Special Recognition

Dr. Melissa McNeil, MD, MPH, of Pittsburgh, is a Professor of Medicine and Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Edward “Ted” Bollard, MD, DDS, FACP’s (left) award is presented by Dr. Philip Masters. Bollard, of Lebanon, is an academic general internist at the Penn State-Hershey Medical Center. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he is the Associate Dean for Gradu-ate Medical Education and Designated Institutional official for the Penn State-Hershey Medical Center and Penn State College of Medicine.

Dr. Renee Cassidy, MD, FAAP, FACP, of West Chester, is an Internal Medicine-Pediatrics physician serving patients in Chester County.

Dr. Marc Shalaby, MD, FACP, of Sch-necksville, is the program director of the Internal Medicine-Primary Care Residency and an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsyl-vania in Philadelphia.

Clinical Practice

Prior to the awards ceremony, the PA-ACP held its quarterly council meeting where discussions included issues facing the internal medicine community and what the Pennsylvania chapter can do to best serve its members in 2014.

Council members were also joined by State Secretary of Health Michael Wolf who provided insight into the Corbett Administration’s health care agenda.

Dr. Deepak Pahuja, MD, FACP, of Erie, is the CEO and CMO of the Aerolib Healthcare Solutions LLC, as well as a physician advisor for case management and utilization at Intercede Health. *Dr. Pahuja was not able attend due to inclement weather.
