presence of the Secretary & Corre-

spondent Mr. R. Balaji and the Man-

agement Committee members of SBI-

OA Educational Trust.

Thematic Observances

World Health Day

World Health Day was observed on 09.04.19. A programme with the theme ‘Health For All’ was presented by the students of std I& II. It focused on the combined benefits of exercises and healthy diet.

All is ours Day

The day that was observed on 10.04.19

highlighted all the wonderful things in

the world.

The students were taught to appreciate

everything around them and reflect on

the beauty of nature and also share

things because sharing is caring.

Students presented the ‘All things

bright and beautiful’ song during the

occasion.

National Siblings Day

National Siblings Day was celebrated on

11.04.19. Students presented a pro-

gramme during the morning assembly and

shared their thoughts on caring for their

siblings.

The assembly focused on the Indian festi-

val ‘Raksha Bandhan’ which reinforces

the bondage of brothers and sisters.

Students tied Rakhi on the hands of their

brothers and demonstrated how the festi-

val is celebrated in India.

They were advised to stand true to the pledge ‘All Indians are my brothers and sisters’ and be united as Indians by the Headmistress Mrs. Vijayalakshmi Nageswaran.

International Plant

Appreciation Day

In order to develop a greater apprecia-

tion and gratitude for the plants and

trees which gives us oxygen to survive,

Plant appreciation day was celebrated

on 12.04.19.

Children were taught to appreciate whatever they are blessed with in this beautiful world. Students donated sap-lings to the school.

Project- SAVE OUR EARTH

“We have arrived at the moment where

we must choose whether our generation

will be remembered for ruining the plan-

et or the one that saved it.”

Save our Earth project of SBIOA Inter-

national School aims at initiating and in-

fluencing young children positively to

nurture and care our planet by planting

saplings.

Students of Std I-III took the first step in

the new academic year and planted sap-

lings at ‘Anbagam’- Home for Mentally

retarded and Panchayat Union Middle

School, Kolathur on 11.04.19 .

Seminars

Computer Workshop An in-service training programme was

conducted on 16.04.19. Mrs. G. Sub-

hashini, Dept. of Computer Science

took a practical session for the staff

members.

The training module focused MS Word.

The session helped the teachers to clari-

fy their doubts and also update their

skills.

Meditation Workshop

A meditation workshop ‘Experience

Heartfulness Relaxation’ was con-

ducted for the staff from 22.04.19 to

24.04.19.

Mrs. Hemaltha Murali & Mrs. Sandhya

from the Heartfulness Organisation

were the resource persons.

The workshop aimed at achieving long-

lasting change in behaviour and attitudes

by integrating heart and mind through

simple, easy and effective meditation ex-

ercises.
