magazine • Q magazine is owned by the conglomerate BAUER
• First Issue = 1986
• Published monthly in the UK
• Originally to be called ‘Cue’ but it was changed so it wasn’t mistaken for a snooker magazine
• Focuses on style and having high standard photography and printing
• In 2008 EMAP (Q’s original conglomerate) sold their consumer magazines (including Q) to Bauer Media Group
• Bauer is better for Q as it has more subsidiaries worldwide for Q to work with on promotion and sale

This was launched in June 2008 as a fully working radio station. The flagship programme was QPM. Plus, there was two main shows/presenters with Danielle Perry and then Matthew Perry presenting Q 80’s. It was transmitted on digital TV networks and online in the UK. It moved into London form Birmingham in 2009 however was closed in 2013. The music aired on the radio station is of the same genre that’s publicised in the magazine.

The Q awards are a annual music award ceremony. It began in 1990 and has grown quickly. The awards are sponsored/ in partnership with Xperia Access. The awards are voted for by the public. The locations of the ceremony's include Abbey Road Studios and The Park Lane Ballroom. The nominees are artists/bands that are also mentioned in Q magazine.

Album Series – There was a series of Q albums realised which had tracks on including
artists that had been frequently mentioned in the magazine and were popular.
Q Television Channel – It was launched in 2000 and was available; in the UK on Sky channel 364
and Virgin media channel 338, in Ireland on UPC Ireland channel 714, in Iceland on Siminn and in South Africa on TopTV channel 503. Part of the channel was that viewers could select music videos via a premium rate phone line, but this was dropped in 2004. The channel played the same variety of music that is featured in the magazine.

All of the subsidiary media products of Q magazine create a synergy that promotes the magazine on a variety of platforms. All involve the Q branding distributing the band to more audiences.
